funny
I shop for groceries at Wal Mart all the time, without incident. Now there are at least 5 stores around town, and one in particular is known as the ‘ghetto Wal-Mart’...and predictably the one with that nickname is where the ‘people of Wal Mart’ can be found.
Ergo, I don’t go to the Ghetto Wal Mart at night.
Meijer is awesome—I wish they had one where I am.
In North Missouri near the Iowa border I have seen Mennonites in home made clothes get dropped off by vans to shop at Walmart.
Pretty cool.
Sunmaid raisins are Sunmaid raisins wherever you buy them. $3.50 at Walmat... $5.00 at Harmons. I shop at Walmart. Same same Mobil1 oil, Castrol, Federal Ammo, etc etc. I’m not going to pay extra for these things just because some snobs don’t like Walmart.
Actually, now that I think about it, the main reason I don’t use it is the parking area which is so weirdly designed, it takes about an hour to exit - it’s like a maze. Also trying to get into it on a crowded highway in which there is no light for the Walmart/Costco center, is dangerous.
That’s my take on it too. I don’t go into our local WalMart very often, maybe once or twice a month. It seems no better, no worse than any other stores in the area. I just don’t shop that much (other than groceries), and WalMart isn’t exactly known for high quality merchandise... Not that I buy high-end, but I do like stuff that works well and lasts. I’ve found “you get what you pay for” is so often true.
I don’t have this problem in New Hampshire...can’t say why...
I like it....I usually come out with more then I planned on buying but I think eveyone does that....toiletries and putty food are a little less then Shoprite so it’s worth going.....
We shop at Walmart often. Of course, our Walmart is a nice one. Every time my mom visits from the Chicago suburbs she mentions how nice our WM is. Very clean, organized, not ghetto at all.
The writer comes off to me as a dilettante who shops for “Artisan-anything” at Whole Foods or some other issue store, frankly, even though he can’t quite even define what Artisan as applied to food really is.
You’ve described just about every big box store.
I may shop at Wal Mart once every three months or so. When I do I am reminded why I no longer shop there. The customer service is either horrible or non-existent.
Meijer started here in Michigan so we’ve got them all over the place. There are 2 of them in Jackson near me. (plus Walmart, Target, Kohls, K Mart etc.)
I frequently shop at Walmart. The brands I buy are the same offered elsewhere but almost always lower priced. Like many retail chains, some stores are poorly run and some are well run. Super Walmarts are fine but some old regular Walmart stores trying to pack more stuff in their small facility can be crowded, have small isles and seem disorganized.
I hear its a good store to steal large Flat TVs. Most of the store people couldn’t catch you if you ran. They are now building Walmart Markets, smaller stores with food and essentials. They also have internet stores, I used them this past year for boating items. We use them manly for food shopping. Where we live we call Walmart, “downtown”. LOL, where else can you find people with a dozen tattoos buying food with food stamps?
Some of it isn’t too bad. I wear their ‘active wear’ made by Danskin and they have some pretty cute leggings. But I tend to go for the stuff that ‘looks expensive’. JMO.
Because the people there are incredibly rude.
And don’t get me started about the employees.
My wife prefers Target for that kind of shopping. It’s kept much cleaner.
