Professor: Not Being a Red-Head Now a "Privilege"
The Social Memo ^ | 10/6/15 | Aurelius

Posted on 10/06/2015 8:31:58 AM PDT by rightistight

According to Professor Andrew Pegoda, not being a red-head is now a "privilege." Pegoda teaches at both the University of Houston-Clear Lake and at Alvin Community College.

In an article titled "What Acknowledging Privilege Means To Me (and You), or Privilege Explained in 187 Words," Pegoda outlines what it means to acknowledge his "White (and cis-Male) Privilege."

Pegoda writes that privilege means "that my accomplishments–or perhaps more accurately, my access and opportunities to have said accomplishments–are due in part (and probably a greater part than even I am able to or even comfortable articulating) to deeply-ingrained, institutional forces fully beyond my control, largely invisible forces that perpetuate racism and sexism to benefit me at the expense of others, rather at the expense of every person."

He further says that "science and history and sociology and psychology" proves his privilege.

At the end of Pegoda's article, he includes "check your privilege BINGO:"

According to Pegoda's "bingo," not being a red-head is a privilege. On top of that, being Christian, having no criminal record, and having a "standard accent" are privileges as well.

Some people are morons. I did not have any children before marriage for a simple reason - I paid attention to biology, and I knew where kids come from. Casual/recreational sex is a choice. Considering the effects of illegitimate birth on the children, recreational sex is an immoral choice based just on the outcome, even before you look at scripture.

It’s almost like God knew what He was doing when He gave us guidance on morality. Those who make bad choices (and, yes, I know that about 1% are the exception and did not get there through bad choices) seem determined to blame responsible people, but they are simply wrong.

Time to protest "Professor Privilege".
Definition: The ability to spout complete nonsense in public and still be heard.

You are right. He states his sexual orientation as gay at http://andrewpegoda.com/about, online with this lovely, insightful quote: “THE ANDROGYNOUS MIND IS RESONANT AND POROUS; IT TRANSMITS EMOTION WITHOUT IMPEDIMENT; IT IS NATURALLY CREATIVE, INCANDESCENT, AND UNDIVIDED.”

So, I guess if you are androgynous, you have a privilege that normal straight gendered people do not have. I hope he feels the guilt that he should feel over his privilege.

I understand the contemporary/urban meme of Cis and its prominent use, STILL mainly by homosexuals and those that pander to them..

All that blather is horsesh!t, frankly. Its use has come into vogue because of pandering, obfuscation, political correctness as means of behavior control of people too stupid to realize the game being played.

To completely rewrite language solely because some small percentage of the already small homosexual population wants to parse and confuse the issue. Tippy-toe around them - you have to use THEIR words and meanings...nonsense....just like the explanation below.

"Many transgender people prefer “cisgender” to “biological”, “genetic”, or “real” male or female because of the implications of those words. Using the term “biological female” or “genetic female” to describe cisgendered individuals excludes transgendered men, who also fit that description. To call a cisgendered woman a “real woman” is exclusive of transwomen, who are considered within their communities to be “real” women, also.

“A black man at work was trying to guilt trip everyone with a discussion on privilege. I stated that many problems in the black community are due to a 75% illegitimacy rate versus whites 25%, so the high crime and poverty are a reflection of fatherless homes - something poor whites with similar marriage-avoidance have. Therefore, you are mistaking racism for classism, since middle class blacks with married families do rather well compared to those who come from several generations of poor broken families.
He hardly missed a beat, bringing up that family status was yet another form of privilege, but that we can’t rush to assume that marriage is a solution to poverty and push our values on others ...”

I stopped having similar discussions with blacks at work. They sounded reasonable and I thought it was just a discussion; an exchange of views. But two different times different blacks complained to HR. When I was informed I stopped talking to blacks if it was at all avoidable. (This was a defense contractor.) Apparently they thought my views were hate speech. Either that or they felt that people who disagreed with them should be reportable.

"I’ve pretty much figured out that anyone who uses the term “Cis” in their speech or work is a homosexual."

And sure enough, the author states in the article, "I don't have...Able-bodied Privilege or Heterosexual Privilege, for example."

Let’s start counting her adding up all the true privilege which is not inferred. There’s affirmative-action,people who get money from the government for not working, food stamps, transportation vouchers, school vouchers, EBT cards, grants for planned parenthood, acorn, public defenders, Welfare, HUD housing Section 8, Disability Payments, this goes on and on and on. Once that list is complied then I might listen to fantasy privilege claims. This professor needs to check himself out too: special parking for professors, tenure, subsidized salary, office, benefits, etc. Give it up before you point at me. “Deeds not Words!”

At least, he doesn't have to worry about someone accusing him of being a good writer or a clear thinker. In 187 words, he has proven himself incapable of either.

I'm sure making that assertion makes me guilty of some form of an ism or a phobia in this person's mind but he can go tell someone who cares what he thinks.

In Great Britain there is an odd prejudice against red heads called “Gingers”. In many cases they are bullied in the social media and even outright assaulted.

That's because it is well known that true Gingers do not have souls.

This guy disagrees, but he is a DayWalker.

Privilege nonsense is falling flat

It's alive and well on college campuses.

In the real world, however, not so much.
