Professor: Not Being a Red-Head Now a "Privilege"
The Social Memo ^ | 10/6/15 | Aurelius

Posted on 10/06/2015 8:31:58 AM PDT by rightistight

According to Professor Andrew Pegoda, not being a red-head is now a "privilege." Pegoda teaches at both the University of Houston-Clear Lake and at Alvin Community College.

In an article titled "What Acknowledging Privilege Means To Me (and You), or Privilege Explained in 187 Words," Pegoda outlines what it means to acknowledge his "White (and cis-Male) Privilege."

Pegoda writes that privilege means "that my accomplishments–or perhaps more accurately, my access and opportunities to have said accomplishments–are due in part (and probably a greater part than even I am able to or even comfortable articulating) to deeply-ingrained, institutional forces fully beyond my control, largely invisible forces that perpetuate racism and sexism to benefit me at the expense of others, rather at the expense of every person."

He further says that "science and history and sociology and psychology" proves his privilege.

At the end of Pegoda's article, he includes "check your privilege BINGO:"

According to Pegoda's "bingo," not being a red-head is a privilege. On top of that, being Christian, having no criminal record, and having a "standard accent" are privileges as well.

Nowadays being a Christian can get you killed thanks to the hatred engendered toward Christians by people like this so-called professor.

As far as I can tell, Privilege nonsense is falling flat. No one who is not already insanely liberal pays any attention except to laugh. The far left fringe that believes it is being demoralized by the idea that they are facing the insurmountable obstacle of “privilege”. I’m okay with that.

The only white privilege is a work ethic.

Student loans for college degrees other than in the STEM disciplines need to be completely eliminated; otherwise idiots such as this will continue to spout off.

A black man at work was trying to guilt trip everyone with a discussion on privilege. I stated that many problems in the black community are due to a 75% illegitimacy rate versus whites 25%, so the high crime and poverty are a reflection of fatherless homes - something poor whites with similar marriage-avoidance have. Therefore, you are mistaking racism for classism, since middle class blacks with married families do rather well compared to those who come from several generations of poor broken families.
He hardly missed a beat, bringing up that family status was yet another form of privilege, but that we can’t rush to assume that marriage is a solution to poverty and push our values on others ...

In Great Britain there is an odd prejudice against red heads called “Gingers”. In many cases they are bullied in the social media and even outright assaulted.

I would put medical degrees on that list as useful, as are agronomy and veterinary.

“Nowadays being a Christian can get you killed thanks to the hatred engendered toward Christians by people like this so-called professor.”

Exactly. Plus, I highly doubt that if you look at top level positions in industry, entertainment, finance, academics, medical and legal professions, etc., that Christians are represented at a higher percentage than their representation in the general population. Would like to see a breakdown of these statistics by the author before making these assertions.

I’ve pretty much figured out that anyone who uses the term “Cis” in their speech or work is a homosexual.

You can click on the links in the article and they will take you to the full regalia of a PhD CANDIDATE visiting and teaching courses here that fit his lifestyle and desire to get attention. Said attention consisting of any publicity or or getting publishedt will help him stay here in the this wonderfully effed up country of vanished morals and common sense.

“Privilege”

The new race card.

Another way to create discord and division.

Another Liberal idea/concept.

Does it have anything to do with their historical prejudice against the Irish?

Well, I checked every box aside from "well-connected family" and "tall" (although at 6' I'm by no means short either).

What a privileged fellow I am. Do I get some kind of voucher or something?

re: I’ve pretty much figured out that anyone who uses the term “Cis” in their speech or work is a homosexual.

From the Urban Dictionary: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cisgendered
cisgendered - adj form of cisgender

The opposite of transgendered, someone who is cisgendered has a gender identity that agrees with their societally recognized sex.

Many transgender people prefer “cisgender” to “biological”, “genetic”, or “real” male or female because of the implications of those words. Using the term “biological female” or “genetic female” to describe cisgendered individuals excludes transgendered men, who also fit that description. To call a cisgendered woman a “real woman” is exclusive of transwomen, who are considered within their communities to be “real” women, also.
