Gay Businessman Who Hosted Cruz Event Apologizes

Ian Reisner, one of the two gay hoteliers facing boycott calls for hosting an event for Senator Ted Cruz, who is adamantly opposed to gay marriage, apologized to the gay community for showing “poor judgment.”

Mr. Reisner put the apology on Facebook, where a page calling for a boycott of his properties, the gay-friendly OUT NYC hotel and his Fire Island Pines holdings, had gotten more than 8,200 “likes” by Sunday evening.

“I am shaken to my bones by the e-mails, texts, postings and phone calls of the past few days. I made a terrible mistake,” wrote Mr. Reisner.

The New York Times first reported on the event, a dinner and “fireside chat” on April 20, at the duplex Mr. Reisner and his business partner Mati Weiderpass co-own on Central Park South in Manhattan.

The two men are prominent figures in the gay rights community, and Mr. Reisner has been especially vocal about gay marriage. He’s also a staunch supporter of Israel, as is Mr. Cruz....

Israel is the "gay capital" of the east.

New York City is the bastion of the homosexual agenda, and is home to about 2 million Jews, with a population of about 8.4 million. So more than 1 out of 5 New York City residents is Jewish.

A few days ago, I saw a post on FR suggesting in so many words that in the current Iran nuclear weapons question, it wouldn't be so bad if Iran nuked New York City since it is the bastion of the homosexual agenda in the US. Well, the poster apparently forgot in his eagerness to support the modern nation of Israel that he was suggesting nuking 2 million Jews in New York City.

Tel-Aviv is the "gay capital", per se, of the east, and it has the largest Jewish population in the world.

The leaders of Jewish culture continue to promote homosexuality much more than actively oppose it. Let's face it, in American culture, virtually all societal leaders are accepting of homosexuality, finding ways to excuse it, ignore it, permit it, etc., rather than oppose it in any meaningful way.

Jews are certainly well represented in the leadership of the entertainment and media industries in America, and those industries continue to promote homosexuality.

The only peoople I hear actually opposing homosexuality are Christians, and a few conservative seculars.

Even amongst Christians - the prevailing sentiment is to let homosexuals do as they please as long as they don't do it "in your face", or actively promote homosexuality.

This permissive attitude of the past 50 years or so has simply allowed the homosexual movement to increase its influence, and yet amongst American leaders - the permissive attitude still prevails.

I get 2.4 million results in google, and as you read them, reality tends to start hitting home.

In google, you can click on Images when you get the search results to search the web for images with the same LGBT Israel, and those results are eye-opening.

Of course, this is all not to mention that the modern nation of Israel is only accepting of Christians until they start trying to spread the Gospel. The reader should do some searching on evangelizing Israel to find out more about that topic.

I’m just wondering if a refusal to host the event would have made the owners liable under anti-discrimination laws in New Jersey. Or does their law contain the gay-friendly “hateful/hurtful speech” escape clause that permits the state to say no discrimination when services are refused because the message criticizes the favored class or the speaker, even when not addressing gay issues, is hostile to the gay community?

Even if the law does not contain such language, I’m sure that the government would find no wrong-doing that requires prosecution. That’s how it rolls in the Obamanation.

In real numbers, homosexuals are an extreme minority. Their power, their authority, their will, is enforced by one thing, and one thing only.

Ted Cruz wants to limit it.

Lions and sheep ... but free self-directed Americans living under the Constitution, limited Federal government as Cruz sees it, would be the majority not losing sleep over upsetting a tiny minority who are able to safely, peacefully exist under basic civil and criminal law. Put it back to the states and watch this issue peacefully, civilly settle itself state to state, county to county, city to city.

Government is the sole source of the gay agenda's power to hold tyranny over the majority. The majority would prefer if when a baker said, "Sorry, try another baker to bake a cake for your homosexual wedding because I think what you're doing is wrong," they just went and found a baker who was okay with it, and you know they'd find one easily. The majority would prefer it, if they wanted to prevent their kids' scout troop from being led by an open homosexual they could do it. If a family apartment complex wanted to restrict the residents to heterosexual couples only, homosexuals could find or start their own complex -- limited government would let them, and the free market would handle the rest. But now, Federal and judicial nightmares await anyone who tells this tiny minority to take it somewhere else -- church, military, adoption agency, school, landlord, employer, bakery, photographer -- and all risk harsh fines and punishment.

The only thing fueling the gay agenda at all, is government

Cruz wants to cut the sole source of the gay agenda's force of power.

I wonder why he didn’t anticipate this.
I can see him doing it if he were prepared for the blowback, but something here does not compute.

The event was meant to affect different groups in different ways.

The conservative base is being pushed to accept homosexuality even more than it does.

You can see from the repsonses here that many rank-and-file conservatives still (?) seem to care more about getting "their guy" elected than sticking to any particular principle. Well, as long as they have something they can use to rationalize what "their guy" does so they can tell themselves they are "sticking to their own principles" even as they abandon them for the sake of getting "their guy" elected.

Jews, gays, liberals, etc., are being primed to accept Cruz as a "tolerant" guy that they can deal with, so they will vote for him in a general election.

If Cruz goes and has dinner in the home of wealthy homosexuals, this tells rank-and-file homosexuals that the wealthy homosexuals find Cruz reasonable.

To the New York City Jewish power set, this meeting signals that Cruz is ok for their support.

The actual article "slams" Cruz as being some "crazy conservative" - which of course is aimed at the conservative rank-and-file, building his "cred".

The basic concept: "if liberals hate him, he must be good".

God's justice being perfect, unrepentant sinners will burn in a lake of fire and that is a good thing.

According to Scripture, wicked unrepentant sinners are not saved. And to say they should be therefore contradicts Scripture, not to mention it defies common sense.
