Why do GOP candidates keep stumbling on evolution?
wahingtonexaminer ^ | Feb. 14, 2015 | Byron York

Scott Walker stumbled on it during a trip to London. He and the rest of the 2016 Republican presidential field will face it repeatedly in the months ahead. So it would probably be best if GOP candidates prepared a quick and clear answer to the question, 'Do you believe in evolution?' They'll have to use it a lot.

If they are like most Americans, Republican candidates believe God has guided the creation of the Earth and its inhabitants. That alone is enough to craft an answer that will both represent their beliefs and work in a campaign.

The Gallup polling organization has done surveys about evolution for years. They ask this question:

Which of the following statements comes closest to your views on the origin and development of human beings: 1) Human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life, but God guided this process; 2) Human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life, but God had no part in this process; or 3) God created human beings pretty much in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years or so.

In the most recent poll, done in May 2014, a plurality, 42 percent, said God created humans in their present form, while 31 percent said humans evolved with God's guidance. Just 19 percent said humans evolved with God playing no part in the process, and 8 percent had no opinion.

"moderator Byron York of the Washington Examiner, who asked Bachmann, an evangelical Christian, about a past comment that wives should be “submissive” to their husbands.

Bachmann came off well, and York defended his question while praising her response — even though she didn’t exactly answer."

How about responding with: “That’s an incredibly stupid question”.

The media and the Marxists (same, same) utilize Saul Alinsky’s rules for radicals to ‘gotcha’ republican candidates on a daily basis. We have to read the rules and learn how to counter stupid questions. One way would be to ask back “are you asking that question to fill an important fact finding mission that can save America’s economy or safety at home and abroad? , or because it fits your ‘rules for radicals’ paradigm?” Throw it right back in their face.

The dems and the media think all Republicans are Stone Age brutes who know nothing. And Republicans walk right into the trap.

Byron York, as so many GOPe types in DC, always thinks in a defensive posture. The lib media is trying to trip up the GOP and portray them as radical religious zealots who hate science. The question should be asked of Hillary if they can find her. An irrelevant question as far as most voters are concerned, but as always the RINOS on K Street are on the defensive about it. Gees, will the stupid party ever figure it out?

In Genesis 1:1, God’s Word says that he created the Earth and all things. Let the godless media argue with God.

It will continue until someone calls them idiots to their faces. That will take a very strong person.

They stumble because they don’t know what they are supposed to say to please the media. How about

“What kind of dumbass question is that?” The follow up is easy “If I were a liberal reporter like you, I, too, would be trying to get the focus off of the horrible record of the last six years” or

“Define what you mean by ‘evolution’.” Most journalists are pretty dumb. or

“What in the world does that question have to do with the problems we face that have been created by the Obama Administration?”

Or “No, I think you are still an ape.” They are going to attack you anyway. Go on offense. Or

“No, because evolution might mean that we are not all equal.” Let them chew on that one for a bit. Or

“Why, is atheism now a requirement for office?” The follow up practically writes itself. Their response will something like “You can believe in God and evolution” at which point you say “So, you believe in Intelligent Design”. If they say no, then they have the contradictory belief of a god that played no part in how or why we are here. If God is not the agent of our being, then there is no rational reason to believe in such a thing, and we are back to atheism. Or

“How did my opponent answer that question? Whatever he/she said, I believe the opposite, as he/she is wrong on everything else.”

Newt Gingrich and Ted Cruz are the only ones who seem to know how to play this game. The media already hates you, so there’s not really anything you can do to ruin the relationship. Knowing that should be something of an advantage.

Here’s a good response:

Q: “Do you believe in evolution?”

A: “Well, when I look at the quality of politicians put forward by the Democrats, it does give me cause to doubt it.”

Because it is not an issue relevant to creating jobs, stopping illegal immigration, defeating the scourge of Islam, and improving the economy and safety of our Nation.
How about we concentrate on those things? Fix all that then we can move on to other things.

In Genesis 1:1, God’s Word says that he created the Earth and all things.

It's the how.....He did it anyway he saw fit. Could have been a quick finger snap or through a Big Bang and evolution. Our job as sentient beings is to learn as much about the universe as possible to improve out lot in life. We started with stone tools, fire and the wheel and we are currently flying about the solar system. It is God's Way.

We ... as Christians ... are the only “face of God” in this lifetime - for them, besides the Word of God, which is available to all.

The only time they’ll have to “argue” with God, will be at the Great White Throne judgement of Revelation 20. But, in the meantime .... they are here on this earth ... and “we” are the representative “face of God” to them.
