Our Rights Are Gradually Eroding
The Tea Party Express ^ | Aug 12, 2014 | Rand Paul

Posted on 08/12/2014 2:33:15 PM PDT by PapaNew

OUR RIGHTS ARE GRADUALLY ERODING. I THINK THEY ARE GRADUALLY SLIPPING AWAY FROM US. I THINK THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONSTITUTION AS A DOCUMENT THAT RESTRAINS YOUR GOVERNMENT, THAT RESTRAINTS YOUR SIZE AND SCOPE OF YOUR GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN LOST ON A LOT OF PEOPLE, AND I THINK IT'S SOMETHING WE SHOULDN'T GIVE UP ON.

Apparently, the knowledge of the proper use of caps lock has already eroded.

Uh, I am leading a revolutionary force of 10,000 strong well armed and getting ready to do battle with whomever needs to be attached. What are you doing about it other than piss and moan in your posting about our rights being slowly eroded and then just on some one else because you can’t get the job done. A*shole. Get some cajones before you start criticizing others.

The statement is a soundbite. A remark with no objective.

While it may be true, the real discussion would be in how to resolve it.

Sorry, but this has been going on for much longer than the Progressive/Socialist movement.

Our form of government is flawed, as is the Constitution.

It provided us with a Congress that creates more & more law with every day in session. Laws take away rights. The more laws you have the fewer rights you have.

Yet, in order to be seen as doing something, doing their job, Congress must act daily to take away more & more freedom. Rarely do they pass a law that actually increases freedom.

Can you name any law passed in the last 50 years that increased someones rights without it being at the expense of someone else's rights? I can't.

ALL progress starts with telling the truth.

Which is why I posted this. Is it true or not?

The "first shot fired" would be enough people on the Right believing in the Constitution and willing to fight for it's restoration, first at the federal level, probably by the CoC mentioned, or by the state level if there were any states willing to forsake federal funding. No we're not where we've come to physical blows...yet.

The first step is the Right uniting against our greatest common enemy instead of what too many around here do - fire on their own troops.

Did they take away Paul’s right to use small-case letters?

Mainly because of Supreme Rulers with black dresses on, carrying little hammers. I expect Congress and the Administration to attempt to usurp My Rights, but the JUDGES are actually supposed to know how to READ.

Good, but actually before “fixing it” the real discussion is what the REAL problem is. I think Paul has ID’d the real problem in two parts, one with a long-term solution the other needing immediate action.

So the first step is the Right agreeing on what is the greatest threat to our country and freedoms - what is THE REAL problem of the day.

Once we’ve agreed on what the problem and threat is, we can move on to how to discussing how defeat the problem.

Here is the problem and it means we will LOSE. It is not just the Progressive Socialists. The GOP would have you believe that. Why? Because it means you will vote for them out of fear. The GOP is equally complicit. This just didn’t start happening with the election of ODimwit. This began in earnest with the election of W.

Until we accept that both the Left and GOP are equally at fault here, then it is all over but the shouting in our own echo chamber.

And when people talk about “the Constitution” most have no clue how to interpret it or how to interpret and use over 200 years of judicial interpretation. Until we learn, scream all you want because it won’t make one bit of difference.

Welcome to the new USSA. The really bad news is that it is unlikely that the country will be saved in your lifetime. You already have almost 50% of the population that wants a socialist nation, and that number is growing with the influx
of Hispanics, along with a high birthrate of blacks.
The first election of the illegal alien Communist was a disaster. His reelection told me that the country has an electorate of IDIOTS, and fellow Marxist.

<>Our form of government is flawed, as is the Constitution.<>

Interesting distinction, but the Framers themselves didn’t claim perfection.

Our form of government is flawed, as is the Constitution

You should read up on that. None of the founding fathers thought it was perfect and none thought that perfection was possible.

They knew this Constitution was only going to function for as long as the American people did not seek their largesse from the government.

"A Republic, if you can keep it" - Benjamin Franklin

"The tree if liberty must occasionally be watered with blood" - Jefferson

He also basically said we might need a revolution every 20 years... whether by ballot or blood would be the real question.

"America is great because America is good. When America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great." - Alexis de Tocqueville

then you might want to explain your ‘Piss and Moan’ comment.

what are you doing other than pissing and moaning and shooting their own.

Yes many people here on FR are quick with righteous indignation when confronting someone whose is not living up their perceived of what they believe the other should be doing but are not willing to do themselves.

So in my answer to your righteous indignation I state that I was leading an army of 10,000 strong. I guess me asking you what you are doing other than pissing and moaning is shooting our own. It still does not answer the question of what you are doing about it other than demanding from others what you are not willing to do yourself. hypocrisy.

If the author wanted us to get his point, he (or the editor, whoever) wouldn’t have written in caps. I see caps, I tune out, it’s never worth bothering over.
