I stopped reading after sniffing the first whiff of victimology....
Too many of them are on the Down-Low. Like their mascot, Barack Bathhouse Barry.
Blacks have a higher standard of living here than in their native Africa. However they got here and whatever they went through, the ones here are the lucky ones and they know it deep down.
They play the victim card and are happy to take handouts because they are low IQ, lazy, and it’s actually economically beneficial to them compared to the low skilled work they could get.
Now the Hispanics are booting them out of the labor they can actually do. So they are irrelevant other than as a slave voting class for Democrats.
Indians have gone nowhere as they too decided to be part of the socialist party. Welfare destroys incentive to do better.
One particular issue with many black males is not noted by the author but is amply illustrated by his article - many black males carry around a huge hostile attitude and are their own undoing as a result.
Before anyone jumps on me, I did not say “all”, I said “many”.

There are some nuggets of truth in here. Much of what he is saying is couched in passive terms. “The recording industry has worked its magic convincing young males to follow the hip-hop lifestyle” (paraphrase), but the males simply accept it and do not question it. That is victimology at its best. Dr. Watkins may have a PhD but still can’t see clearly through the PC BS.

Irony is lost on this guy. Good God. This is the most idiotic drivel on race in America I’ve ever read.
Stopped reading after he held up Harry Belafonte and Jim Brown as role models. Both are far left in their thinking and world view. Told me all I needed to know about the author.
She understands some of the symptoms but has no clue as to the cause. Blacks from the end of WWII and through the fifties had entered a development phase of being “immigrants.” They were moving rapidly out of the then backward economically south and into the industrial north where they were getting the jobs and gaining skills, thus raising their remuneration. That came to a screeching halt with the War on Poverty and LBJ got his plantation vote for the Democrats forever and Negroes declined from then on socially as families disintegrated with Welfare and even educationally as the whole school system was redesigned to teach less and less until now it teaches essentially nothing beyond fear of guns compared to 50 years ago.
Nah, it's easier to whine about being owed free handouts.
Newsflash: slavery has probably been around since the time of Nimrod. If you remained obsessed by things that happened in the past, you will never go forward.
