This 4th of July, Forget the Fireworks, Safely fire Your Weapons Instead: 1776 Protest
Vanity ^ | 3 July 14 | Xzins

Posted on 07/03/2014 4:31:50 AM PDT by xzins

Obviously, the safety issue is very important. But, I don't know a single gun owner who doesn't know when and where he/she can safely fire their weapons.

Why do it?

1. America’s revolution was an armed revolution -- and not a fireworks display -- that led to the freedom of this nation. People died. People gave 'their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.'

2. Fireworks are nice, pretty, a crowd pleaser. And, for a country that understands their past, present, and future freedom, fireworks are a good reminder. When our own Veterans Administration can't remember that "Independence Day" is not the 3rd of July, it is time to rattle the cage a bit. And, honestly, how many think beer, hot grill, and firecrackers instead of 'Give me liberty or give me death!' ? I'd say the vote comes down enormously on the side of scorched hot dogs.

3. Our Freedoms are under attack. Fire your weapons on the 4th, America's Militia! Let them know you're armed and lethal. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

LIVING in an urban zip code shouldn't cancel your common sense KNOWLEDGE

The atatement is " ... I don't know a single one that doesn't know " (synopsized)

Rephrased, the poster isn’t subject to association with the enormous amount of idiot gun owners who don’t follow safety rules.

More prevalent in urban locations than elsewhere.

Ranges are great, but if they are booked, there are alternatives. Someone above suggests blanks (which are available and cheap). Someone else suggests a test fire into the dirt. Another suggests firing into a lake. Firing into just about any clear berm is safe. Anyone who’s a shooter knows what’s safe and what isn’t.

Use the 4s in your own time zone, and we’ll be continual fire from 4 to midnight.

He can’t read, travis. He can’t read the title, he can’t read the first 2 sentences. He thinks American gun owners are dolts who believe “safely fire” includes shooting any damn place and any damn manner. He thinks if it isn’t micro-managed, in-the-weeds, big brotherism, then American gun owners are too stupid to be trusted with their own weapons.

He’s sounding like a pro-Obama, anti-gun nut, to be honest with you.

Your typical ‘concern troll’.

I’m familiar with a huge database that says American gun owners are responsible and safe and not accident prone at all.

Do you believe in our 2d amendment rights? If so, then you also believe in SHOOTING.

Shooting in the air is unsafe, so only an idiot would infer that the thread suggested shooting in the air.

Our Local Vintage Hardware Store

Jeeze when Jack passes away it's gonna shutdown the whole Town of Mooresville for His Service. I ALWAYS check with Him to see if He has what I need 1st then move on to Home Depot or TSC if He doesn't.

Happy 4th to You and Yours also.
