I’m with you, there’s so much we don’t know, and then we have the mysterious deaths of those associated with the investigation and what not, think Vince Foster.

These guys are Occupy types. They are far more likely to kill free men and women that the govt.
The left has always wanted a glorious revolution.
But.
Not all is as it seems. This could be a ploy to justify a harsh govt crack down on gun rights and other freedoms.

My family is grown and gone. I can only be killed once.
I won't live on my knees. That's for cowards.

Yes. And when was the last time you saw the death penalty carried out so quickly : June 13, 1997 jury recommends death.
Executed June 11, 2001.

Math is hard. Do the numbers. How many law enforcement of all types are in the US? How many citizens with firearms? Door-to-door all over the US is nonsense.
And at some point, people aren't going to be sitting home waiting for a knock on the door.

Many many things about that entire situation don’t pass the smell test.

In Afghanistan, the US govt was hamstrung by very restrictive self-imposed ROEs and the lack of a true desire to defeat the enemy.
That won't be the case here.

How does your family defend against a cruise missile from 1000 miles away? How does it defend from bombers dropping their loads on you from 30,000 feet?
I doubt the Feds would be willing to wipe out a whole subdivision just to get me for removing the tags on my mattresses.........

No, the enemy of my enemy is sometimes also my enemy (cf. Hezbollah v. Al Qaeda).
In most circumstances, though, the enemy of my enemy is a reliable short-term ally. We seem to be reaching the point where the anarchist left may turn into a reliable short-term ally for American constitutional conservatives. (cf. Lord Acton’s comments about the true friends of freedom always being few, and freedom advancing only by temporary alliance).

Do the numbers. No way the government can control an uprising of the populace.
USSR couldn't do it, and they were admitted hard core communists with government agencies just for that very purpose.
Absolute government control of this country is a fantasy. Otherwise, illegals wouldn't be growing weed in national forests.
Government is by the consent of the governed.

If I’m not mistaken, McVeigh gave up all appeals and told the govt, ‘let’s get this over with’.

Your post has given me some grounds for optimism.
I still think the majority of Americans have been dumbed down to the point of not even recognizing that their liberties have eroded. And the dependent class wouldn’t even care, as long as the freebies kept on coming.
But perhaps we don’t need the majority to be with us after all.
To: bondserv
As stewards of our freedom and our offsprings future, we need to take measures that will ensure they have the same opportunities we have had.
Instead, the government is ensuring they will be debtors. I don't know how many today are willing to sacrifice one thing for their children, as their own parents sacrificed for them. Those raising children today have a completely different mindset. (From being spoiled by parents that did the sacrificing - and a school system and government that tells them they are 'entitled')

In Afghanistan, the US govt was hamstrung by very restrictive self-imposed ROEs and the lack of a true desire to defeat the enemy. That won't be the case here. If the government takes off the gloves and starts hammering the population all willy-nilly, then even more of the citizens will rise up and fight.

The USSR did a good job of controlling the masses for 60 or so years. The masses didn't do them in - it was economics and Reagan's policies to hurry their demise along.
I'm not saying I disagree with your premise, just the USSR argument.
IF we had enough people willing to fight and give up everything, we can win. I just don't know if there would be enough willing to get off the couch to turn the TV off to join in. Thanks to our dumbed down education system, most have no clue that their freedoms have been taken away. I like your optimism though and will be there fighting with you. I'd rather perish than sell my soul.

The USSR did a good job of controlling the masses for 60 or so years.Only because at the beginning, the masses were disarmed feudal serfs, conditioned to harsh overlordship.
That's not America, where there are as many firearms as people.

Foolishness is apparently quite easy, based upon your appeal to it. Burbs of the large cities are the only places fedzilla needs to control and they will have a vast majority in numbers for this task. When they control the roads, amassing resistance that can counter the authorities will be a task even you cannot fathom, apparently.
BTW, I will put my math skills up against yours, any day, smartaleck.
