Dispelling Myths: The Case for Immigration Reform [Enjoy your made-in-America ZOT, troll]
Red Dirt Report ^ | 12/27/2013 | Brian Woodward

In his press conference on December 20th, President Obama urged the House of Representatives to support the Senate’s immigration bill, which passed 68-32 in late June. Among the concerns cited by Americans who oppose reform are that immigrants will take their jobs, drive down wages, increase criminal activity, burden the welfare system, and reshape the cultural dynamic of the country. These concerns are mostly ill-founded. The legitimate concerns have real solutions, and a more open immigration policy will be a net benefit for all Americans...

Highlights from Article:

- A 2013 study by the American Action Forum states that "immigration reform can raise population growth, labor force growth, and thus growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP).”

- In 2013 the Bipartisan Policy Center came to similar conclusions. It makes the prediction that current provisions, as included in the Senate Bill, would raise GDP 4.8 percent over twenty years.

- According to the Immigration Policy Center, immigrant males between the ages of 18 and 39 (which constitute the greatest portion of the prison population) are five times less likely to be incarcerated than are natives.

- A 2011 survey by the Pew Research Center revealed that 92 percent of second generation and 96 percent of third generation Hispanics speak English proficiently.

- A 2010 Gallup poll revealed that Hispanics attend church services more often than non-Hispanic whites.

- Since an influx of immigrants means an expansion of the labor supply, many assert that the result will be less jobs and lower wages. However, as asserted by Jason Riley, a member of the Wall Street Journal editorial board, “The number of jobs in the United States is not static. It’s fluid, which is how we want it to be.”

We will have dominion over all time and space.

OH, wait, that was Tom. Anyway, do you really want Tom in charge of the future, when you could have people who look like you?

It was funny. The jacket trails on the ground when she walks, and her face is lost in the hood, and her evil laugh is, “Hee hee!”

It’s at the Fiesta, which is about a mile from here. I will see if he wants to go. There is a matinee at 12:40, so that would be good. He mentioned a sandwich shop a while ago (two months?) that he liked, so maybe we will do both on the same day.

Soon, maybe...but...because of the way people here talk, we are taking separate vehicles.

Which reminds me...the neighbor that went after him with the scissors a month ago or more was taken out of here in an ambulance today. No info on that, but the cops were here first, which usually indicates a death. She hasn’t looked good for quite some time, so I’m not optimistic.

I have two females and a male. For far, the breads holding true.

We’re ok on our end. :-)

"I have two females and a male. For far, the breads holding true."

I have two daughters. I mentioned to my wife that many men worry about whether the family name will continue.

She consoled me with this thought:

"Don't worry, Bob. With the way the world has been going lately, it's likey that your grandchildren will all have your family name."

At least you have an excuse.

Actually, I considered that you were talking about income security.

Good luck with the new cave. Maybe you could arrange for a pellet-stove or fireplace. That would be awesome.

Ceiling mount IR heater or sub-floor heating. Whichever I can afford.

Kinda wish I would have kept the old furnace. Heat exchanger was cracked, but for a garage it would have been fine.

Couldn’t Fledermaus just walk down the stairs?

Maybe, but it would be difficult. A REAL Fledermaus would fly... ;-)

And... there is insufficient research on the affects of Darksheare's coffee on the physiology of Fledermauses, er Fledermeese, er, whatever more than one of the batty things is called.. ;-) (Hey, it's been three generations since any of my fore-creatures spoke German. I just know that Fledermaus is a noun and therefore capitalized... ;-)

Sprinkled with snow. It looks like about 1-1/2”, very icy. Jake went out and quickly came back, then Shannon smacked him and told him he’s an idiot.

Your Shannon is one switched on kitty.

The river here is now fully back in it’s trough, but running very fast.
The fields are still full of puddles but the ditches are low, this is a good sign.
Most places are now nicely recovering, except Glastonbury area, it has returned to it’s pre medieval condition, the pumps are working overtime (100 miles west).

Just in case you where interested, Onyx. :)
