Rand Paul: I'm Not A Birther!(Won't Question Cruz Eligibility)
Obama Release Your Records ^ | August 14, 2013

Posted on 08/14/2013 8:44:02 AM PDT by Cold Case Posse Supporter

(CNN) – Republican Sen. Rand Paul welcomed praise from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who said she's on "Team Rand" when it comes to the recent intraparty feud between the senator from Kentucky and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

In an interview to air on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront," Paul also said Tuesday he plans to stay out of the debate over whether his fellow Republican colleague Sen. Ted Cruz would be eligible to run for president. [...]

On another front, his Senate colleague Ted Cruz has stoked speculation of a potential White House bid with his recent trips to early presidential primary voting states. Some, however, question whether Cruz would be eligible to run for president, given that he was born in Canada to an American-born mother and a Cuban-born father.

But Paul said he's not wading into that debate.

"You won't find me questioning his eligibility. I decided a long time ago I wasn't going to be a birther for Democrats. I'm not a birther for Republicans," he said. "I'm staying out of that. Yeah, I'm just staying out of that one."

Translation: “I don’t give a damn about the Constitution!”

Just because the Democrats lie, cheat, and steal doesn’t mean that the Republicans have to ignore it. Still less does it mean that they should lie, cheat, and steal in return.

We need a return to honest government, hard as Republicans of all persuasions—whether RINO or Paulite—seem to find getting their heads around that concept.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So. Paul is either too much of a coward to address a rational question or he is in agreement with the many and different official versions of the Obama birth certificate story.
Which is it?
Cowards should not be “leaders”. They should all quit and go be farmers or something. At least by growing food they’d be very useful to the country. Now they’re part of the damn problem.
Well, truthie, then you are part of the problem as well, covering up for the freaking Mozlem fag commie usurper. Solznehnitsyn is a wiser and better man that those who want to ignore crimes.
“In keeping silent about evil, in burying it so deep within us that no sign of it appears on the surface, we are implanting it, and it will rise up a thousand fold in the future. When we neither punish nor reproach evildoers, we are not simply protecting their trivial old age, we are thereby ripping the foundations of justice from beneath new generations.”
Rand Paul is a smart fellow. He realizes that the “birther” movement has been marginalized by the media, and to publically go along with them is to invoke the cries of “racism” and “nationalism” that would cost him an election before it starts.
Well someone needs to question Ted Cruz's eligibility early on, in the form of a lawsuit, in the event Cruz gets onto a primary ballot. That's the only way the issue will ever get to the supreme court. I have no doubt now, after the obamacare decision, that the ruling would allow both Obama and Cruz.
Post-constitutional? Yes but I'd still vote for Ted Cruz.
Intellectual consistency will not slow down the 'Rats. The are perfectly capable of the doublethink necessary to ignore whether Obama is eligible at the same time they are screaming that Cruz isn't. But they are smart enough to wait until Cruz is either nominated or at least when it is too late to effectively replace him if it looks like he is going to be nominated before trying to destroy him.
We must be prepared for all of their arguments. The 'Rats are very good at wargaming their plans, looking at how we will likely respond and then planing their second and third moves.
“...The ‘Rats are very good at wargaming their plans, looking at how we will likely respond and then planing their second and third moves....”
That’s because they understand that politics IS war by other means.
Our side has yet to wake up to that reality.
This is manufactured bullsh*t designed to do exactly what it’s doing - break up our already fragile coalition.
If Cruz is ineligible, then they need to prove it. It’s that simple. He should be able to produce whatever documentation is necessary to prove that he is. Like our system requires.
Our current Hired Help in the WH didn’t do so, satisfactorily, and is still on our payroll, f***ing us over daily.
What matters right now is remembering who the real enemy is. To my mind, it ISN’T Rand Paul or Ted Cruz.
Any politician engaged in a**kissing the msm can kiss mine.
Sorry to be blunt but catering to the MSM and elite political class is the perfect way to continue on the path to tyranny.
Fewer and fewer people even watch the MSM or believe it.
What we need is courageous leaders - remember the word “statesman”? - who have the courage of their convictions. Who care more about principles - the Constitution - than their own personal ambitions.
More professional politicians with their fingers in the wind are precisely what we DON’T need. Up to here with them already, and they either lose or are worthless bags of crap if they win, since they are too afraid to be real opposition.
To be a “natural born citizen” of the United States, requires that
a)*both* parents be loyal to the United States, and *that* status can be: *both* demonstrated and proved; and
b) the child must be born on U.S. soil.
“Natural born” does not mean “born naturally.”
“Natural born” does mean, to be without mystery and without question, in regard to the parents loyalty and location of birth of the child.
A parent being a U.S. citizen, fulfills the demonstration of being loyal, but a challenge can be made to the proof of that loyalty. Though that proof is not automatically assumed, it often is, if the parent is a U.S. citizen.
“U.S. soil” includes U.S. territories, structures of state, and vehicles of state. A “structure of state” would be a U.S. Consul or even a U.S. Mission (if the Consul or Ambassador is present). A “vehicle of state” would be *the car* or *the aircraft* of the U.S. Ambassador *with the Ambassador present.* A “vehicle of state” is also any *active* U.S. military ship on land, at sea, or in the air.
In the case of Barack H. Obama, he is not eligible, because his father had little-to-none (if any) demonstrated loyalty to the U.S.A., plus in fact, you will find that his father had *proven* loyalties elsewhere, in addition to not being a U.S. citizen.
In the case of Ted Cruz, he was not born on U.S. soil.
Back to Obama ...
From what I’ve read, there seems to be no proof of Obama being born in Hawaii. Instead, there is only some documentation, such as a “certificate of live birth” which verifies ONLY: that *other records (not revealed to the public)* exist, such that Obama was examined as a relatively new baby (within a week of actual birth) at a hospital in Hawaii.
As a legality, you may show that Obama was a U.S. citizen by the end of the first week after his birth, and stretch that to make him “a native American,” on paper, but, again, his father’s status prevented Obama from being a “natural born citizen.”
IMHO
Yeah, let’s set the precedent that any usurper can run and no one will question his bonafides.
By not questioning Zero, the precedent will be set that any freaking criminal using fake papers and even ostensibly a non-NBC can run for president. So Putin or Kim Jung Il or whatever his name is could come over here, donate sperm to some female, leave, and the child could be a US president. Also by not questioning the forged documents, that sets the precedent that any candidate can forge documents and lie about his past and his identity and no one will question this.
Maybe people think these are great precedents, but I don’t.
I'm sorry, you guys are just nuts. Any thing you are saying has been broken by precedent. Bambi was elected president TWICE, with no court, no consensus, not a single judge with any intent to remove him for all of your bloviating.
So now, you want to take out the best conservative in the Senate, and prevent him from being president because of your theories (which is all they are now).
Good grief, get a life and stop being the conservative purist circular firing squad!
It's done, it's over, he's going to be president for 8 years, the precedent is set, so why are you trying to take out one of our finest candidates?
And you all think the GOPE is stupid, good grief.............
That he, Paul, is not even open for discussion on the matter shows a kind of political posturing that does not bode well for the USA. He seems to have a position that ‘birthers’ are scum. Besides the article says that Cruz’s father was only born in Cuba. Cruz’s father was still a citizen of Cuba when son Cruz was born. This is a very important factor in eligibility. I would hope Paul reads or get some discussion of both sides of the ‘birther’ issue from FR before I make up my mind about his politics.
Yes, Ted Cruz is Constitutionally eligible to be President - according to the top authorities of the early United States who knew exactly what the Founding Fathers meant by "natural born citizen." And all the statements that he isn't need to stop.
"It is not necessary that a man should be born in this country, to be 'a natural born citizen.' It is only requisite that he should be a citizen by birth, and that is the case with all the children of citizens who have ever resided in this country, though born in a foreign country."
- James Bayard, A Brief Exposition of the Constitution of the United States (1833)
This was part of Bayard's discussion of qualifications to be President and Presidential eligibility.
Bayard's exposition of the Constitution was read and approved by the Great Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Marshall, by the legendary Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story, and by the famous Chancellor James Kent, as well as other legal experts of the early United States.
Not one single person ever said he was wrong about his understanding of what "natural born citizen" meant.
Its very Simple.
Ted Cruz is a US citizen. No one disputes that. What is at issue is if he is a Natural Born Citizen.
Hundreds of lower courts have ruled on the definition and meaning of NBC. The Supreme Court has upheld those rulings by not overriding them. Congress and the 50 States have not challenged those rulings.
This is a settled issue. A US citizen is a NBC. And no matter what the Constitution says or meant.....
Arthur, McCain, Obama, Cruz, whoever - whatever. All eligible to be the US prez.
Over and over I repeat that as to such a quotation it is explicit as to children of “ CITIZENS”. Cruz was not a child of “CITIZENS” as his father was a citizen of Cuba with some kind of Castro connection. I’ll also throw in that Cruz was born in Canada and as such does not satisfy a requirement for place of birth to fill out a complete ‘natural born citizen’. As much as I admire Cruz today for his political stands and judgements, I as vet who fought in WWII for the life of our Constitution can not and will not betray my Constitutional beliefs for expediency of politics.
