Vanity, sorry. My youngest, a FEMALE, whom has always been a FEMALE, with a Birth Certificate, valid SS number, and has been declared on taxes for 18 years as a FEMALE, recieved a threatening letter from Selective Service ordering her under threat of Prosecution, to make a copy of her BIRTH CERTIFICATE and send it in within 10 Days.
My other daughter, did NOT receive this kind of harassment which does NOT happen to Illegal Immigrants even though they are required to register.
After I talked to a free people (men who have registered) none of them were required to show a BC.
For what its worth, this looks like a scam.
Isn’t it the Dummy Rangel that is still living the urban legend that drafts and deaths disproportionately effect minorities? That is the only reason he offers that bill up every year.

I was thinking at Income Tax time this Quarter, to send a heavily-redacted Form, hiding all income, to the IRS. I'll attach a note that says "For National Security Reasons".
Our tax dollars at work. Like heck am I giving them my kid’s Birth Cert to prove she, whom was Born a girl, with two girly names, is a GIRL.
With what I’ve seen, MP Captain, US Army - I’ve gone after AWOL’s and everything else in the military...and I’ve seen how the govt either prosecuted or didn’t prosecute...with that said - just to make her life easier — get a hold of someone in the Selective Service Office - bring that record up and write their name down, date & time, and make sure your daughter gets a letter of notification that this was their mistake - or something like that..make sure she writes down all the phone numbers and people she talked to concerning this...she needs to keep that info just in case this ever pops up again - once it is cleared...establish a paper trail...hope this helps!
Others have already addressed it as a scam, so I’ll cut straight to the humor. My late Dad got a real one of those letters and wandered next door to talk to the Board about it...I say “next door” because the reserve unit he was XO of at the time had their command offices next door. He was in uniform. And he’d served with somebody on the Board in WWII and Korea. He said they told him not to worry.

I think this years was the first time she filed for taxes. I did it for her. As in the previous 17 years on my own taxes, she is filed as a dependant DAUGHTER.
That is a really good idea. I will do that with her and get her reports.
Something odd also happened in April with her high school and something that an “anonymous” someone reported that she had “moved”, when she hadn’t. They called her into the office (1 month left to graduate) and made her sign a new boundry-exemption form. I want to know who and why said this erroneous information to the School District.
Before she sends them anything, internet search the address and confirm they are really Selective Service.
If they would answer their darn phone. Can’t leave a message and the voice messaging system just kicks you off with the, “we are too busy to take your call. call back”. Blame it on Bush, the Sequester, and Republicans I suppose.

I will verify the request for the BC first. I’m quite sure the IRS/Social Security/NSA already knows she’s a girl. And was a CHEERLEADER!
