While the title says it all, I thought a goodbye was in order.
While I've been a FReeper for well over a decade, I must declare that it is time to part ways. While I have the greatest respect for a great many of you, the days where I can in good conscience remain silent about the issues that set me apart from the rest of FReeperdom have past. For clarity, or perhaps catharsis, I'm not entirely certain which, I'll lay them out on the table an call the ZOT™ down upon myself.
The racism: I just can't handle it anymore. FR has become increasingly racist since President Obama took office, and enforcement has dropped. Now, not a single crime can be reported with an "amish" comment, and I've yet to see a post express embarrassment or shame when lo and behold sometimes the perpetrators turned out to be lily white.
Homosexuality: FR is on the wrong side of history on this one, and I'll just leave it at that.
Mostly though, it's the hate. More and more posts reference violent solutions to political disagreements. Some subtly couched, others make no pretense. I wouldn't be surprised at all if I read in the morning paper that a FReeper murdered a federal bureaucrat or a federal judge.
I've learned so much, from so many of you, and for that I'm grateful. I genuinely and truly wish all of you well, and sincerely hope you all live out the rest of your lives in happiness.

It's cool though, except maybe that one creepy freeper with the substance abuse problem...I have suggested to him that he focus more on getting his shit together in the real world instead of seeking the applause of anonymous internet 'friends', yet he still finds the time to go back weeks to stalk my posts....oh well...he will pay the price for his folly when the rent comes due.
There is the standard of credibility you stand with. Ad hominem attacks on an unnamed FReeper. An inference that there he has no personal responsibility for comments made in the past. If you like cowardice and unaccountability you’ve found your champion.

Ah yes, the Undead Thread.. we kinda started out in the thread by jj_fate.
And snowballed from there.
Our home of choice is a freshly zotted troll thread which we then summarily hijack for our own purposes.
Unfortunately, the trolls caught on to us.
So we’ve had to use donated threads lately.

Actually it is comprised of me asking the thread poster, “Mind if we use your thread for the Undead Thread this month?”
Once in awhile the originator goes, “I’m sure I’ll regret his, but sure!”
Afterwards it’s, “Okay, we went from discussing the topic to discussing cookies in six posts. Now we’re talking books. And this is the same metathread that started with jj_fate?”
I usually end up adding that person by their request to the ping list due to morbid curiosity.
And a sense of “Where will we land next?”
And if we’re really good, we make the six post from topic to cookies transition seem natural and normal.
While we’re at it, how abouts we hijack Melas thread.
I’m sure he won’t mind.

Don’t know you but your post sounds like you want to only surround yourself with people who agree with you and you want everyone to be happy all the time....I don’t believe anyone here would try to convince you otherwise. That’s the freedom we all relish. Go where we want to go, do what we want to do and be who we want to be. I run through these posts and read the only the ones that interest me and I learn as much from the comments sometimes as the actual post. I am thankful for the people who take the time to share their opinions and believe the site is well monitored. You might consider this quote from Dr. Peter Kreeft, “ It is wrong to be judgmental of persons, but it is equally wrong to refuse to judge actions.” Political correctness in many ways serves to constrict those from sharing ideas that lead to what you seem to be seeking....
