Feinstein's Gun Control Bill Will Trigger The Next American Revolution
Zero Hedge ^ | December 28, 2012 | Brandon Smith

...Revolution? Yes, it all sounds rather “extreme”, but the cold hard reality of our era is not going to comfort us with diplomacies and niceties, so honestly, why should I have to sugar coat anything? We live in extreme times and there is no longer room for prancing around the ultimate consequences of that which is taking place in America today. This country is increasingly sliding towards the edge of internal conflict. The Liberty Movement and true Constitutionalists see it, subsections of Republicans and Democrats see it, and most of all, the federal government sees it. In fact, they may even be counting on it...

Gingrich: The challenge confronting Republicans
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2972055/posts

The thread containing Newt’s piece is at the link above. It is quite detailed and long and, sadly, fails to discuss the all-important PHILOSOPHICAL/MORAL/ETHICAL dimensions of the country’s “problem”.
That failure is what prompted me to reply with the post below.
If you agree or disagree with Newt or my response, please reply with your reasons for doing so.

Until the Obama liberal welfare state collapses because they have run out of other peoples’ money or their enablers at the Fed have driven us to Weimar levels of inflation, I fear the split between what one writer @ FR called “feral adolescents” who vote for free stuff (Democrats/liberals) and those rational adult voters forced at gunpoint to pay for it (conservatives/producers) will continue. Until that collapse — which may also trigger violence from the left which many on the right will just as violently resist — this country will remain in deep, deep trouble.
We are now in Tyler’s dependency en-route to slavery and the power hungry bastards on the left will, like the parasitic mutant microbes they are are willing to kill their host before they give up that power or die themselves.
Hate to say it, Newt, but no matter how many study committees you form or position papers you write, the thuggish opposition we face today will not allow this to end nonviolently.
I would urge you and your GOP friends to acquire the tools and training for what lies ahead unless you are OK with a Pol Pot style march off into a Georgia swamp.

Well, when it’s time to start burying your guns, it’s really time to dig them up.

That said, I doubt very much that the feds could count on much support from local LE, outside of the big coastal cities perhaps, and even then maybe not so much.

Definitely not during the NFL season...Probably more likely during non-overlaping-with-NFL portions of the soccer and/or basketball seasons...

“...At what exact point, then, should one resist the
communists?...”
“How we burned in the prison camps later thinking: what
would things have been like if every Security operative, when he
went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether
he would return alive and had to say good bye to his family?
“Or if during periods of mass arrests people had not simply
sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang on the
downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had
understood they had nothing to lose and had boldly set up in the
downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes,
hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand...the Organs
(police) would very quickly have suffered a shortage of
officers...and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the
cursed machine would have ground to a halt.”

The longer we can postpone the inevitable, the more likely progressives will slip up and expose their agenda and illegal actions taken for all the world to see.

How much more exposure do they need? The rest of the world is full of leftist dictators like Obama and they see what they want - another leftist dictator ("Welcome to the club, tovarich!")!!

The problem is that WE don't truly see what is happening in our own country and, taking all our time preparing to prepare makes US more vulnerable than it makes them!! WE are the ones in danger, NOT the left!!

...elections are the only resource citizens have to control government..."

Hmmm...That hasn't been true in the U.S. since the late 1800's

Name one instance in the last 100 years that has the citizenry successfully bringing the government "under control" via the ballot box!.

Let the Dems try to pass Second Amendment restrictions . .

You apparently didn't recognize the massive election fraud in the last election. Obama was not elected, it was a joke and is not being reported.

None. The democrat and republican
Politicians have many heated differences but their most important idea of power is equally shared.
They argue over how to manage the citizens but equally agree that citizens need to be managed.

Citizens argue amongst themselves over
which political party best serves the people, when in reality all politicians serve themselves.
Their appointed seats are just a stepping stone to K Street.

Except for the “shall not be infringed” part.

No other Amendment has that wording.

So what is it that "shall not be infringed"? If your answer is "the right of the people to keep and bear arms", I'll ask what is that? As I wrote before, "The 'interpretation' of 'the right of the people to keep and bear arms' is yet to be over. The limits of 'the right' have not been 'interpreted'."

If you want to take that route, then we have no rights at all.

Words have meanings, only those with an agenda would attempt to say it doesn’t mean what it clearly reads.

BTW, the right to vote was the 26th, not the 4th Amendment.

Actually, I meant the 15th: "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."

No excuse.

Actually you could toss in the 19th too (womens right to vote)

I brought ou the 26th because it was the final one, but all three apply.

Words have meanings, only those with an agenda would attempt to say it doesn’t mean what it clearly reads.

What is the meaning of the words "The right of the people to keep and bear arms"? What is the clear reading of those words?

Some people on this forum say that "The right of the people to keep and bear arms" ends at the real property line of an owner if the owner says a person can't keep and bear arms on the owner's real property. So is the meaning of those words, the clear reading of them, that the right ceases at the whim of a real property owner when on that owner's property? Remember, government is not involved at this point. This right is not granted by the Constitution, but acknowledged as existing.

Now let's get government involved:

If the "some people" referred to above are correct, and they get the government to pass a law in support of their position, would that be an infringement of the right to keep and bear arms? Or would it be a recognition that "The right of the people to keep and bear arms" only goes so far?

So again: What is the meaning of the words "The right of the people to keep and bear arms"? What is the clear reading of those words?

I confess that the scariest scene I’ve seen in any movie is the opening scene in Inglorious Basterds. You really can’t hide, and our government is FAR more sophisticated than they were.

I agree. That was a chilling scene!
