Hmmm...That hasn't been true in the U.S. since the late 1800's

Name one instance in the last 100 years that has the citizenry successfully bringing the government "under control" via the ballot box!.

None. The democrat and republican
Politicians have many heated differences but their most important idea of power is equally shared.
They argue over how to manage the citizens but equally agree that citizens need to be managed.

Citizens argue amongst themselves over
which political party best serves the people, when in reality all politicians serve themselves.
Their appointed seats are just a stepping stone to K Street.
