Mitt or Rick ? YES like it it not this is OUR CHOICE!

Posted on 02/29/2012 4:05:27 AM PST by Dan.israel.2011

Okay my FRiends, this is it... We have to choose now! Are we going to support Mittens or Rick Santorum.

A vote FOR Newt at this point is a vote for four more years of Obama's MITTens?

Please please please take off your MITTens and put ON your sweater vest!

Yet this as you observe, relegates the article to a sort of second-class status. As if it’s not “real”, because it wasn’t written by a ... liberal journalist?

Yes! We still let the libs frame our discussions.

I apologize. I did not know you were mocking an original post’s meanness. I went back and saw.

If it’s Romney I hope the republican party ceases to exist.

It is the people voting for him that is keeping him alive. No one stopped other more viable republicans from entering the race. They chose not to. And now - it is what it is.

Your argument is based on santorum’s talking too much about the social issues, and I believe that it cost him the state. But if you added the Gingrich votes to his, Santorum would have beat Romney which would have crippled him. A more crippled Romney is good for Gingrich.

Newt should drop out and endorse Rick Santorum in Georgia.

Even if that does not happen I will be thrilled to see Mittens come in distant 3rd to Rick and Newt

>>...Rick Santorum beating Mittens is a WIN!...<<

Technically speaking, yes.

However...

Santorum: He’s a cute little goldfish in a sweater-vest who (so far) seems far too easily rocked back on his heels when punched.

General Election: A bowl full of sharks (Dems/MSM/GOP-e) with the protection of the status-quo as their sole mission.

I will vote for Santorum should he make it to the general election, but I won’t hold out much hope for him. I’m voting Newt in the primary because he can take a punch and hit back harder and I want him in the race as long as possible.

"Please describe policies on the economy, foreign affairs, military preparedness, reducing the deficit, abolishing government agencies, SCOTUS and the courts, education, States’ Rights, agriculture, import/exports, US energy production, job creation, welfare reform, repealing Obamacare and any other non-social conservatism that Santurum has proposed."

I suggest you go to the source. It's pretty easy to find, really.

You might also want to watch his victory speech after winning Minnesota and Missouri - it'll give you an idea how he'll come across versus 0.

“Newt and his supporters keep thinking they are going to have endless bites at the apple”

Disagree. Neither Newt or Santorum have endless bites.

With every Primary Mittens wins he pulls further away. Santorum cannot win a primary and Newt cannot win a caucus.

Both Newt's and Santorum’s Campaigns are like a kid learning to drive a stick. Just cannot quite get the truck in gear then when its in gear they pop the clutch and stall the motor. Meanwhile no conservative wants him but Mittens keeps banking the delegates.

FR is dividing between the Pro Newt and Pro Santorum camps. Which is good no mittens and no RuPaul. However, we need to keep it civil in a few months one camp is going to desperately need the other.

It is the MEDIA who keeps spinning the dialogue to social issues not Rick.

It is Rick who keeps rising to their bait.

And, it was in a speech to a roomful of the faithful that Rick used his 'makes me want to vomit' remark - there were no media present - it was all him.

Absolutely NOT. Newt is the only hope this country has for returning to sound fiscal and social principals. Sweater vests went out in the early seventies as have the citizen’s propensity to embrace the puritanical ideals of Santorum. Like it or not there is no way in today’s immoral atmosphere existing in this country can someone like Santorum carry the majority in the general.

"Sweater vests went out in the early seventies as have the citizen’s propensity to embrace the puritanical ideals of Santorum."

Catholicism is now Puritanism? Do tell...

At any rate, it's funny how things come back into fashion. Forty years sounds about right!

"Like it or not there is no way in today’s immoral atmosphere existing in this country can someone like Santorum carry the majority in the general."

I'd be more inclined to buy this argument if Santorum weren't running against the worst president in US history.

You're also neglecting to consider that people tend to turn towards religion during tough times, and the last few years have been tough times for a whole lot of Americans. Besides, I think many people are becoming more and more aware of the very real costs of the current "immoral atmosphere".

I think that he may be a retread DU troll.
Bam would love to run against Lil Ricky.

I'm sure other Rat hopefuls, like Hill would love an easy target like Ricky in '16 rather than a fellow socialist with resources like Mitt.

By the way, as another thought on why Rick's religious views may play well:

Yeah right. That’s why we have more states looking at legalizing same sex marriage. That’s why we have schools teaching tolerance for gays and transgender. That’s why church groups are being forced to pay for abortions and contraception against their conscience. Anyone who thinks the majority of citizens in this country are going to suddenly turn back to the attitudes and morality of the 50s is delusional. Santorum thinks government control is the answer. Newt has always worked for local control and until we get back to more local control no change in the moral decline of this country will happen. The local moral “attitude” that you see is being overwhelmed by totalitarian control in DC and Santorum will not change that to the extent that Gingrich will.

If Rick wins, he won’t pick Newt for Veep.
But Newt as Sec. of Education? Now that’s a fit, IMO!

May play well in localized communities but Santorum won’t change the DC control that has kept the moral majority under thumb.
