Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

So am I understanding this correctly- you will rely on your own arm of the flesh to turn this around and then look to God after?

That apparently only works for salvation.

2 Nephi 25:23

Thanks, too, for adding tremendous and substantive insight to the discussion at hand.

Mr. Robinson,

I am a mere visitor to your website. I post occasionally, but I read so much here.

So, here’s my question to you. What do you want people like me to do? I am FULLY supporting Mitt Romney for President. Do you insist that I go elsewhere? If so, please state that. No runaround, no BS. Will I get banned for stating this? Those who call Sarah Palin a rino never seem to get banned.

Speaking of Sarah Palin, you know what we did in 2008? We allowed the media to destroy her. WE didn’t have her back. I’m not letting that happen again. We fed her to the wolves (media) and NEVER backed her when she needed it. Nah, we were all too busy patting ourselves on the back, telling each other that we’re just too smart to vote for that evil rino John McCain. Meanwhile, while we were engrossed in self-congratulatory musings, she was destroyed by the media and we all let it happen.

Fast forward to 2012. Go back and review the postings on your website. Find the name of a single conservative who wasn’t called a rino (or worse) and demonized by some of your regular posters. For SOME, there can never be a perfect conservative.

You don’t like Mitt Romney for a number of reasons. Fine. I don’t like the thought of Obama and another four years in the White House. Oh, what I see here is “just wait until 2016 and then a REAL conservative will step up”. Really? Paul Ryan is a terrific choice for VP. He’s going to come back for another round with the media (and critical conservatives) after a losing 2012? Doubtful. I will NOT allow anyone to be thrown to the media wolves this time. If you and others want to wait for perfection (if that exists), fine. *I* will have their back.

So, what do you want me and others like me to do? Just leave, so your website consists of posters patting each other on the back and telling each other they were so smart for electing Obama for another term? Telling each other that at least they didn’t vote for Romney!

You’re the one to answer this, not your usual surrogates, who tend to say Yes, Sir to everything you post.

I’m a conservative woman. It’s difficult to give me orders. However, if you wish me to exit your website because I am supporting the republican candidate for President of the United States, say so.

You do realize that Paul Ryan is a devout practicing Catholic don’t you?

Likewise...

You do realize that Willard Mitt Romney is a devout practicing MORMON don’t you?

Well; with the exception of NOT following his god's command found in D&C 132:

The Doctrine and Covenants

Section 132

Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Nauvoo, Illinois, recorded 12 July 1843, relating to the new and everlasting covenant, including the eternity of the marriage covenant, and also the plurality of wives (see History of the Church, 5:501–7). Although the revelation was recorded in 1843, it is evident from the historical records that the doctrines and principles involved in this revelation had been known by the Prophet since 1831.
.
.
.
58–66, Laws governing the plurality of wives are set forth.

58 Now, as touching the law of the apriesthood, there are many things pertaining thereunto.

59 Verily, if a man be called of my Father, as was aAaron, by mine own voice, and by the voice of him that bsent me, and I have endowed him with the ckeys of the power of this priesthood, if he do anything in my name, and according to my law and by my word, he will not commit dsin, and I will justify him.

60 Let no one, therefore, set on my servant Joseph; for I will justify him; for he shall do the sacrifice which I require at his hands for his transgressions, saith the Lord your God.

61 And again, as pertaining to the law of the priesthood—if any man espouse a virgin, and desire to espouse aanother, and the first give her consent, and if he espouse the second, and they are virgins, and have vowed to no other man, then is he justified; he cannot commit adultery for they are given unto him; for he cannot commit adultery with that that belongeth unto him and to no one else.

62 And if he have aten virgins given unto him by this law, he cannot commit adultery, for they belong to him, and they are given unto him; therefore is he justified.

63 But if one or either of the ten virgins, after she is espoused, shall be with another man, she has committed adultery, and shall be destroyed; for they are given unto him to amultiply and replenish the earth, according to my commandment, and to fulfil the promise which was given by my Father before the foundation of the world, and for their exaltation in the eternal worlds, that they may bear the souls of men; for herein is the work of my Father continued, that he may be bglorified.

64 And again, verily, verily, I say unto you, if any man have a wife, who holds the keys of this power, and he teaches unto her the law of my priesthood, as pertaining to these things, then shall she believe and administer unto him, or she shall be destroyed, saith the Lord your God; for I will destroy her; for I will magnify my name upon all those who receive and abide in my law.

65 Therefore, it shall be lawful in me, if she receive not this law, for him to receive all things whatsoever I, the Lord his God, will give unto him, because she did not believe and administer unto him according to my word; and she then becomes the transgressor; and he is exempt from the law of Sarah, who administered unto Abraham according to the law when I commanded Abraham to take aHagar to wife.

66 And now, as pertaining to this law, verily, verily, I say unto you, I will reveal more unto you, hereafter; therefore, let this suffice for the present. Behold, I am Alpha and Omega. Amen.

Manc, what you don’t see is how many have just quietly left or stopped posting.

Look at the Freepathons. What used to be a one to one and half week process is now a never ending thread. It's JRs' site and he can do what he wants, but I think if he continues down this road FR will be hard pressed to continue on to the 2016 elections.

Personally I enjoyed this site a lot better when there a more civil discussion rather than the hate filled dialogue of the past few days. One question for all the purists on here, what do you think Ronald Reagan would do if he was still with us in body and mind? I don't think there is any doubt he would be supporting Romney right now, remember he raised GHWB to the VP and supported in 88 and he was every bit the "RINO" that Mitt is.

As for Eternal Vigilance he was one of the people who championed nutcase Alan Keyes in the Illinois Senate Race, insisting up untill the last days that Keyes was going to trounce a certain Illinois Senate Candidate BO. So I truly doubt anything he has to say about this race.

Well; with the POSSIBLE exception of NOT following his god's command found in D&C 89 about eating FLESH in warm weather.

THE
DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
SECTION 89

Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Kirtland, Ohio, February 27, 1833. HC 1: 327–329. As a consequence of the early brethren using tobacco in their meetings, the Prophet was led to ponder upon the matter; consequently he inquired of the Lord concerning it. This revelation, known as the Word of Wisdom, was the result. The first three verses were originally written as an inspired introduction and description by the Prophet.

1–9, Use of wine, strong drinks, tobacco, and hot drinks proscribed; 10–17, Herbs, fruits, flesh, and grain are ordained for the use of man and of animals; 18–21, Obedience to gospel law, including the Word of Wisdom, brings temporal and spiritual blessings.

1 A aWord OF Wisdom, for the benefit of the council of high priests, assembled in Kirtland, and the church, and also the saints in Zion—
2 To be sent greeting; not by commandment or constraint, but by revelation and the aword of wisdom, showing forth the order and bwill of God in the temporal salvation of all saints in the last days—
3 Given for a principle with apromise, adapted to the capacity of the bweak and the weakest of all csaints, who are or can be called saints.
4 Behold, verily, thus saith the Lord unto you: In consequence of aevils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of bconspiring men in the last days, I have cwarned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this word of wisdom by revelation—
5 That inasmuch as any man adrinketh bwine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together to offer up your sacraments before him.
6 And, behold, this should be wine, yea, apure wine of the grape of the vine, of your own make.
7 And, again, astrong drinks are not for the belly, but for the washing of your bodies.
8 And again, tobacco is not for the abody, neither for the belly, and is not good for man, but is an herb for bruises and all sick cattle, to be used with judgment and skill.
9 And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly.
10 And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome aherbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man—
11 Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof; all these to be used with aprudence and bthanksgiving.
  12 Yea, aflesh also of bbeasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used csparingly;
13 And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be aused, only in times of winter, or of cold, or bfamine.
  14 All agrain is ordained for the use of man and of beasts, to be the staff of life, not only for man but for the beasts of the field, and the fowls of heaven, and all wild animals that run or creep on the earth;
15 And athese hath God made for the use of man only in times of famine and excess of hunger.
16 All grain is good for the afood of man; as also the bfruit of the vine; that which yieldeth fruit, whether in the ground or above the ground—
17 Nevertheless, wheat for man, and corn for the ox, and oats for the horse, and rye for the fowls and for swine, and for all beasts of the field, and barley for all useful animals, and for mild drinks, as also other grain.
  18 And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, ashall receive bhealth in their navel and marrow to their bones;
  19 And shall afind bwisdom and great ctreasures of dknowledge, even hidden treasures;
20 And shall arun and not be bweary, and shall walk and not faint.
21 And I, the Lord, give unto them a promise, that the adestroying angel shall bpass by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen.

Elsie, I’m well aware of your position on Mormons and Mormonism. Upthread, I’ve stated several different ways my disagreement with their theology. I’ve also expressed numerous kind things about the Mormons, in general, and their values.

IMHO, the issue right now, on this thread, is whether we as a country can have the Marxist return to the White House or not. There will be one of two people calling it home come January, and it won’t be a third party.

As God is my witness, I will not, in any way possible, assist the corrupt Marxist Kenyan by throwing my vote away to a third party candidate (of which there are many) who has no possibility of walking through that White House door come January.

“I have known all my life the results of being hated for my religion and like most others- I am what I am because I was born who I was born”

Touching post. You will, judging from where this is going, have plenty of company on the thread. Those blinded by their own purity and piety will never rest until everyone “not like them” is marginalized, and they and everyone “like them” are ascendant.

They’ll invoke God, they’ll claim a Constitutional basis for their opinions, but mostly they’ll claim they are doing Gods work.

This tribalism is disgusting. I defend any Americans free-expression of their chosen religion. Those attacking Mormons for having beliefs of their own would be equally comfortable in a different time, shoving your father in a gas-chamber, stoning those less pious than them to death, hosting an Auto da fe, drowning witches or whatever other period context you wish to choose to showcase the lowest order of humanity from which few of us have historical exception through the march of mankind. Such is the insanity of the crowd.

These people sully the purpose of noble causes from which they derive their supposed legitimacy. In this case it’s Conservatism, or Constitutionalism. I reject anyone who uses the tool of denigrating another religion as a means of gaining political advantage - It’s a short stroll to your fathers Auschwitz experience.

Those that find this behavior repugnant should say so, so the weak-minded religious manipulators will be forced (through numbers against them alone) to crawl back under the rocks where they store their moral compasses.

This thread is wrong. It is unAmerican. It’s juvenile.

Yeah; we'll deal with the Anti-Christian MORMONs during the NEXT 4 years.
