Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

I SAID he is striving to become like Jesus. He is striving to become god-LIKE, as all Christians should be. That Joseph Smith adulterated the Bible, adding to an already perfect book...well, that is between Joseph Smith and God. Surely you would agree with that. What you are trying to do is pin Joseph Smith's blasphemy on Mitt Romney, and I do not believe that is fair. I don't believe God would pin Joseph Smith's sin on Romney. What has Romney done but be brought up to believe Jesus is his Lord and Savior, and attempted to live by Christian principles...and believe Joseph Smith's heresy? Romney is a good man. He has been mislead by Smith, as have many others. I pray that God will have mercy on him, and me, and you.

As for who is a god and who is God...and who wants to be a god and who wants to be god-like and who wants to be God (Mormons do not strive to be or overtake or become Yaweh), this forum isn't big enough and I am not interested enough to take it further. Shoot me an email if you're truly interested and I'll do some work in my spare time and get back to ya.

By the way, I apologize if I thought you were mentally challenged. Norman seems to think you're intelligent. It appeared to me you had issues because you could not differentiate a Christians endeavor to become LIKE CHRIST who is God, and becoming GOD. We have apparently been miscommmunicating.

“He said he’d do whatever he is able, and THEN, AS THE SCRIPTURE SAYS, he will WAIT UPON THE LORD.

Where does that say anything that you accused him of doing: acting mindlessly and then read the scripture to see what he’s supposed to do?”

You have a degree in English I think you said? Let’s break this down-

“He said he’d do whatever he is able, and THEN, AS THE SCRIPTURE SAYS, he will WAIT UPON THE LORD.”

The waiting upon the the Lord comes before the doing. There are plenty of scripture references to that. My favorite, as I mentioned earlier, “consider the lilies for the field....”

And I will reiterate, I never accused him of acting mindlessly, but grats on twisting what I posted. I said that I don’t. I don’t know what he does with his day. I specifically said that I don’t, that I spend my days prayerful. I don’t do things then try to find confirmation / justification after the fact in the bible.

Obviously you know very little of Mormonism. Don’t worry, that is very common.

Jeff said, “As I said, I will do all in my power to help turn this around, AND THEN as I am bid by the scriptures, I will wait on the arm of the Lord to be revealed.”

Your DISINGENUOUS attempt to twist Jeff's words around, to make it look like he is "putting the arm of flesh before God": So am I understanding this correctly- you will rely on your own arm of the flesh to turn this around and then look to God after?

Isaiah 40:31 They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.

Renewing our strength means energy must have been exerted in some form or fashion. Which therefore means, "after doing what we can do," we MUST sit back and, as "I am bid by the scriptures (as in Isaiah 40:31), I will wait on the arm of the Lord to be revealed..."

Again, you've twisted what Jeff said around and if your intention was to only clarify what Jeff said, in a concerned and loving way, you 1) wouldn't have accused him of doing his own thing without consulting the Lord first 2) asked Jeff in private.

"consider the Lilies of the field" is God telling us not to WORRY, or be anxious for our day to day needs. That happens by giving our worries to God in prayer. That Scripture is not to give license or liberty from the requirements of working to provide for ourselves, to be lazy, to be idle and expecting handouts. In fact, the Scripture expressly does not condone that kind of behavior or thinking.

Admit that your question to Jeff was posed not out of clarification needs, but as an attempt to judge, condemn, insult, and/or ridicule Jeff's spirituality.

Not worried at all that I “know very little of Mormonism.” What I’ve found tonight is that too many people think they know too much...read too much into what is JUST NOT THERE. I remember when my dad told me Catholics literally believe wine turns into Jesus’ blood in their mouth at communion. I mentioned this to my Catholic boyfriend and he was horrified. Just ain’t so — at least for HIM — the real deal. What you think you know, sir, is very different when boots hit the ground.

You mean Bishop Romney, Stake President Romney, son of Bishop George Romney and a long line of super Mormons.

The Romneys immigrated to America specifically to serve Joseph Smith personally, after they became devotees in England.

Mitt Romney sought, and received, personal permission from his Holy Prophet, before he started his presidential run in 2005.

Mormonism is not a Christian religion, it is the created polytheistic religion of Joseph Smith.

Mitt Romney anticipates becoming a God himself. Romney is a true and devoted follower of the Joseph Smith religion.

My question was indeed to clarify. You’re the one that turned this into a scripture circus. As for the Lilies scripture, I know it’s God telling us not to worry, but the meaning goes far beyond that, which as being a gardener, I appreciate.

If Mitt Romney aspires to be a god, as you so fervently believe, then more power to him. There are worse things than one aspiring to holiness. GET IT?

DO YOU GET IT?!!!

Barack Obama worships nothing and no one and aspires to take the United States into a hell of his own making -- that to me says ole Barack Obama aspires to be Satan himself!

But hey, whatever, baby. It's your choice. You have one vote.

I'm going with Romney and the quest for holy. He's a good man. And you are bitter and confused.

“Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, “

Except that if you really look at the record of his votes. He didn’t do what you claimed. If you examine HR 1586 - Aid To States for Medicaid, Teacher Employment, and Other Purposes - Key Vote you find that the TARP portion was a tax against bonuses from TARP that was added on to the original bill.

http://votesmart.org/bill/8954/tarp-recipient-bonuses-tax

Dec 2009, he voted against a debt limit extension. The one you seem to be focused on...the so called Boehner Bill was the one that had tax cuts and spending caps tied to it that went down to defeat int he Senate and put my paycheck as a member of the military in jeopardy.

You also fail to mention that he voted yea on H J Res 77 Disapproval of the President’s Authority to Raise the Debt Limit two months later as well as voting for the debt control act.

“And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.”

Again sir, with all due respect if you look at his voting record, you are incorrect.

Feb. 18, 2011 H Amdt 95 Prohibiting Use of Federal Funds For Planned Parenthood Amendment Adopted - House (240 - 185) Yea

Paul Ryan voted to stop federal funds from being used for Planned Parenthood.

You want to falsely ding him on abortion..yet the Godfather of modern Conservatism Ronal Reagan signed a bill in California making abortion legal. A move he publicly stated later he came to regret. Does that make him or his actions as President any less important?

“And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for “gay rights” than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.”

Link? I’ve never heard him make that statement. Anywhere. In fact he voted against the repeal of DADT.

“That, and his penchant for gun control”

How does someone who voted in favor of allowing loaded guns into Federal Parks in your mind have a “penchant for gun control”?

As for the rest of what you posted...I’m simply going to refer you to where I found the information to refute what you’ve said above...his voting record:

http://votesmart.org/candidate/key-votes/26344/

Read it...don’t read it...it’s up to you. But it confused my why and how you..who’ve been so clear on political issues and able to see through the Libtard propaganda before...have fallen for it now. It makes me shake my head.

I’d like nothing more than to debate this with you...but given how things have been going here lately this will probably be my last post because I’ll get banned for disagreeing with JR. I hope I’m proven wrong.

FR has been a wonderful place for me...found it by listening to Rush. I’ve met some wonderful people had some great debates and had my heart truly warmed by the outpouring of support for soldiers and members of the military like myself.

That being said however, the journalist and political junkie in me can’t stand idly by and watch someone who, by words and deeds is a solid conservative be trashed in this way.

Ryn is a solid pick that has the Dems sh*tting themselves right now. For our side to throw him under the bus without the facts in hand makes the Conservatives/Republicans that willingly go along look like the denizens of DU. We’re smarter than that.

Jim I ask you to take a look at his record and reconsider what you’ve said.

If it was to clarify, simply, then you would not have accused him of, in YOUR WORDS: “relying on his own arm of the flesh to turn this around and then look to God after.” That’s absolutely no resemblance to what he said at all.

If Mitt Romney aspires to be a god, as you so fervently believe, then more power to him.

That's all true as to the Mormon beliefs. (I have no information that he would selectively disbelieve that; it's a major tenet of their faith, as far as I understand.)

Barack Obama worships nothing and no one and aspires to take the United States into a hell of his own making -- that to me says ole Barack Obama aspires to be Satan himself!

That's all true, and we get to witness it unfold daily.

I'll take uncertain beliefs with Romney over Satan's helper any day.

You reveal your dislike of social conservatism in most every post, including that one, you despise social conservatism and Christians, it is what is driving you on this thread.

You are so far from reality it is breath taking, I am a total conservative, it is you that is discarding the most important leg of conservatism, you are not a real conservative, you merely like conservative money issues.

Social conservatives are who votes for conservatism, social liberals rarely vote conservative, you have things backwards.

In a democracy, social conservative comes first or there can never be fiscal conservatism, we have seen that demonstrated in the last 60 years.

People who are not socially conservative, vote for liberalism, you need to learn that, also learn something about Mormonism and the American people, the anti-Christian cult, has always been seen as bad by our nation, there were armies involved in the past, it is why Mitt’s great grandfather moved to Mexico, it is nothing “sudden”, or new.

I did not accuse. By my reading comprehension, I asked him to clarify because from what he wrote, that’s what was stated. Maybe you should ask for your money back on that English and Master’s degree.
