Expert: Obama doc is 'proof' – of fraud

Typeface analysis shows images come from different machines

The online image of a Hawaiian "Certificate of Live Birth" was trumpeted by the White House when it was released on April 27 as "proof positive" that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.

Now an expert in typefaces and typography says it sure was "proof," but not of what the White House would have wanted.

Paul Irey, a retired professional typographer with 50 years experience in his business, has says an analysis of the typefaces used in the Barack Obama's long-form birth certificate that the White House released on April 27 reveals it absolutely to be a forgery.

"My analysis proves beyond a doubt that it would be impossible for the different letters that appear in the Obama birth certificate to have been typed by one typewriter," Irey told WND.

"Typewriters in 1961 could not change the size and shape of a letter on the fly like that," he said. "This document is definitely a forgery."

Irey acknowledges that an IBM Selectric typewriter could have produced different typefaces in a given document, but only if the Selectric ball was changed every time a different typeface letter was struck which would be unlikely to have been done to produce the word "Student," for example, that had two different styles of the lower case "t."

Oh, the Nordyke twin I looked at Susan's, the time of birth, 2:12 P.M., the M drops way down. I can't remember what might cause that with a manual typewriter.

That little 'M' is part of the pre-printed form.

John Jay certainly did use the strict Vattel interpretation regarding “natural born”. Then there’s the Indonesia question. I’m all for including all debate points. Why surrender anything?

[quote]

John Jay’s letter to Washington address this dual and permanent loyalty to England that Blackstone introduces. To George Washington, President of the Constitutional Convention, Jay writes “Permit me to hint whether it would not be wise and seasonable to provide a strong check to the admission of foreigners into the administration of our national government ; and to declare expressly that the command in chief of the American army shall not be given to, nor devolve on any but a natural born citizen.” Jay not only knew of Vattel, , as can be seen from his correspondence with James Madison in 1780 during treaty negotiations with Spain, but he was also a proponent of Vattel as well.

Justice Clarence Thomas: We’re ‘evading’ eligibility

Courts don’t like to meddle with the election process. Their reluctance doesn’t mean a blasted thing.

It’s too bad only Trump had the guts to say anything. Timidity on the right is creating a leadership vacuum.

Oh good grief, more WND making a mountain out of a molehill. It's completely obvious Thomas is just joking around. None of that was meant to be taken seriously.

Courts don’t like to meddle with the election process. Their reluctance doesn’t mean a blasted thing.

And yet the very same Justice Thomas you cited (along with the entire US Supreme Court) DID "meddle" with the election process in the 2000 presidential election - Bush v Gore.

It might not have had a seal that you could see on the scan but it was officially confirmed as being legit by the State of Hawaii.

I think you have to be careful as to whether the software you use to blow the image up is doing some anti-aliasing or not. This image comes from a Photoshop 600 pixel per inch import of the WH PDF:
The boxes are identical.

Post your source for that. Are you aware of the difference in embossed and debossed? The little shill reporter certainly wasn’t. On an official Hawaiian state issued docuemtn the seal will be on the text side and the image raised via impression from the opposite side. I would like to see your proof that Hawaii confirmed what was on the Internet was legit by the state of Hawaii. That lie has been floated too many times to be used yet again at FR.

You use the term meddle like you favor it ... are you sure Freerepublic is your kind of community? We ‘meddle’ in the criminality of the democrat party and its schemes. The SCOTUS stopped a state which wasviolating its own constitution and the election laws on a federal level. I’d say that makes what they did something far different from meddling, as poseurs like to put it.

I'd like to see a little more discussion of the differences between the AP image and the WH PDF. (Maybe I missed it?) FTR, I believe the WH PDF has more detail and so is "better." Here is a comparison of the word "student" from each:
The top image is the WH PDF imported into Photoshop at 600 pixels per inch. The bottom image comes directly from the Irey/WND article and shows clear signs of anti-aliasing which means that the computer software was trying to "improve" the image. Any "improvement" takes one further away from whatever the original was. Note also that the pixels are smaller in the WH PDF. (Smaller pixels means higher resolution usually.) I am a bit surprised that this Irey guy based his analysis upon the AP image.

Justice Clarence Thomas: We’re ‘evading’ eligibility

Another WND manufactured birther myth.

They were NOT discussing Obama's eligibility. They were joking about the Puerto Rican born chairman's ongoing "aspirations" to become president. It was a 10 year running gag between the Supreme Court Justices and Chairman Serrano. Sheesh! Obama's name never even came up.

Yes, I understand that. But I wasn’t inferring it was the real thing. I thought my statement was neutral enough. In fact I only posted it as a bit of humor to follow up on Dr. Dude’s remark.

No, I used the term "meddle" because the previous poster did. That's why I put it in quotes. Did you simply not read the exchange at all?

The SCOTUS stopped a state which wasviolating its own constitution and the election laws on a federal level. I’d say that makes what they did something far different from meddling, as poseurs like to put it.

Yes, the Supreme Court did the right thing in Bush v Gore. Your should be taking issue with the poster I was arguing with who said the courts don't like to "meddle" in the election process as evidence of why they won't take the birther cases or rule in favor of birther arguments. The Supreme Court plainly WILL take an election case if there is any grounds to do so. Birthers have simply provided nothing the courts deem worthy to even bother with which further demonstrates the utter weakness of birther arguments.

Another WND manufactured birther myth.

WND has about as much credibility as the Weekly World News. Any time now I expect Farah to be claiming Obama hired bat boy to forge the birth certificate and his secret Da Vinci code like signature is the smiley face.

It's not my software, or my computer. And no anti-aliasing on my end.

Your image showed up fine...solid black. Boxes identical.

There are too many many people whose primary goal is to promote birtherism, regardless of the facts.

If someone makes a claim about an image they post, it at least needs to be accurate.

I was using the image they provided. They told me to zoom in and I would find the boxes identical...I posted what I found.

I notice you haven't come up with diddly squat on any other issue to bring down Hussein.

There is no single issue that is going to bring Hussein down. None. Your hoping for some miracle smoking gun and it's just not going to happen. The economy will be the issue in 2012, not dopey birth certificate conspiracies. In 2012 we will be campaigning on gas prices, the unemployment rate, the crappy GDP numbers, Obamacare, and Hussein's overall poor stewardship of the economy. Birther claims won't have even the tiniest impact on the race. In fact no matter who we nominate, that person will want absolutely nothing to do with these birther conspiracy theories. If asked our nominee will say Obama was born in Hawaii and is eligible to be President and that will be the end of it.
