Rush Limbaugh slammed for 'avoiding' eligibility
WorldNetDaily ^ | April 7, 2011 | Joe Kovacs

Radio giant Rush Limbaugh came under fire today from a caller to his top-rated program accusing the host of avoiding the issue of Barack Obama's eligibility to be president.

"The fact of the matter is that his citizenship has been a suspicious issue from the very beginning," said Angela from Arnold, Mo., "and not one high Republican or you has ever really tried to nail him on this issue, and if it does turn out that he is not a true citizen, then I think all of you should hang your heads in shame because of all the destruction our country has had to suffer ever since he was elected, in spite of being the fraud that we know he probably really is."

Limbaugh asked incredulously, "So you're mad at me?"

"I am furious," Angela responded. "I wanted you and anybody else to go after him on this issue before he was elected. It would have been the easiest way to have stopped him. It would have been a no-brainer. But nobody would. And so he was elected and everything was just hidden under the rug. And now look what we have had ever since. ... If it does turn out that he's not a citizen, I think you should hang your head in shame, because our country has suffered so much."

Limbaugh said irrespective of Obama not having produced his long-form, hospital-specified birth certificate, "I gotta remind you there is no evidence whatsoever Obama was not born in Hawaii. There's something he doesn't want us to see about the birth certificate, but there's nothing to glom onto here other than his reticence in having the birth certificate seen. I am the only one who proclaimed the guy a fraud....

Uh... his citizenship IS the issue. There are two kinds of citizens: Natural born, and naturalized. The former is a citizen by virtue of their birth and the latter is granted citizenship later in life. If Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961 he’s a natural born citizen, according to 8 USC 1401.

The definition of natural born citizen per the intent of the US Constitution is the issue, it appears there was a higher standard implied.

The law concerning BHO’s citizenship is not the current law, but the law in effect at his birth. That is the Immigration Act of 1952.

Here is the U.S. Immigration Law that covers the issue of children born abroad to 1 citizen and 1 alien.

http://library.uwb.edu/guides/USimmigration/66%20stat%20163.pdf

the McCarran-Walter Act, the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952

Public law 82-414 Chapter 1 Section 301 (7)

This applies to Obozo, assuming he is the son of Barrack H. Obama, Sr. and that he was born abroad.

If born abroad with the stated father, he is not even a U.S. Citizen.....

But the more I watch him in action the clearer his motivation becomes. He may want to be President but he damn sure wants to be the one to expose the biggest fraud of all time.

Spot on bigbob...

“Well, I may have a birth certificate but I ~don’t~ have a personal statement from a sitting governor attesting to my birth.”

No, but if the stakes were as big as this is I bet you could get a fellow-traveling governor to attest to having delivered you.

All of Rush’s calls are carefully screened. He took this call on purpose, knowing what the caller would say. IMHO he did it because he’s laying the ground for for coming out, full bore, as a proofer.

Rush makes big bucks because folks tune in to hear him and tolerate the advertisers.

I know; I'm one of them.

If you’d like him to be a Private Eye, you’re always going to be disappointed, that’s not his role.

There's a world of difference between being a private eye and simply recognizing publicly that something does not add up. Rush has a pretty good history of pointing out inconsistencies and shining the spotlight on the missteps of our liberal counterparts. And he has even struck a match or two on the eligibility issue. I would, however, have appreciated a little more candlepower on what I feel -- what I know -- is an immensely Constitutional issue.

No, there isn't. The whole purpose of that clause in the Constitution in the first place was, after the then recent revolution, to prevent the King of England from sending British subjects over to run for President, thereby undoing the revolution by virtue of the ballot box. So... they limited the eligibility for President to people who were a.) already in the colonies by the time of ratification of the Constitution, or b.) people born in the new nation after ratification.

No, he's not!
You do realize that Title 8 governs ALIENS AND NATIONALITY, don't you? (the premier word being "ALIEN")
CHAPTER 12—IMMIGRATION AND NATIONALITY
SUBCHAPTER III—NATIONALITY AND NATURALIZATION
Part I—Nationality at Birth and Collective Naturalization
§ 1401. Nationals and citizens of United States at birth
The following shall be nationals and citizens of the United States at birth:

Where in 1401 is there anything whatsoever that discusses natural born citizen?

Now, there is...§ 1405 - Persons born in Hawaii
A person born in Hawaii on or after August 12, 1898, and before April 30, 1900, is declared to be a citizen of the United States as of April 30, 1900. A person born in Hawaii on or after April 30, 1900, is a citizen of the United States at birth. A person who was a citizen of the Republic of Hawaii on August 12, 1898, is declared to be a citizen of the United States as of April 30, 1900.

Since, however, it doesn't apply...

Why the need to lie?

Since Ramius is trying to convince you of something look at the links I’ve provided at reply 69 and decide for yourself what Title 8 covers.

so what?
So "ALIENS AND NATIONALITY" comes well before Part 1 Nationality at birth.

If there’s some other place in the USC that says something different about citizenship, please let us know where that is.

I haven’t seen anything in the USC that says a natural born citizen is anything other that someone born within the U.S.A. and I’ve never seen anything that requires that one or both parents have to be citizens. If it’s there and I’ve missed it, I will welcome the news. Honest.

You need to do a little cross referencing as well...
TITLE 8--Aliens and Nationality
PART 316--GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR NATURALIZATION

So now you're not going to contest the issue and yet you're not going to apologize for leading others astray either.

I haven’t seen anything in the USC that says a natural born citizen is anything other that someone born within the U.S.A.
Well you sure as hell aren't going to find it in Title 8 because nothing in Title 8 covers natural born citizens! It covers aliens who wish to become naturalized citizens!
And, once again, 1401 says nothing whatsoever about natural born citizenship.

If there’s some other place in the USC that says something different about citizenship, please let us know where that is.
Well, since Congress can only pass legislation covering naturalization then there isn't anything in the USC that covers natural born citizenship.
You should know what Congress can and can't do before making such an asinine statement.

No, you’re just wrong. part 1401 does refer specifically to persons born in the U.S.

...establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization...
And voilà! Title 8!
