LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Bill Clinton will be the focus of a joint university research project highlighting the 42nd president's life with hundreds of behind-the-scenes interviews.

The Clinton History Project, announced Friday by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and the University of Virginia, will be conducted by scholars and recorded on audio and videotape for use at the universities, on the Internet and at the William J. Clinton Presidential Library, scheduled to open in 2004.

Jeannie Whayne, director of the Arkansas Center, said she envisions a collection of accounts from people discussing Clinton's childhood, family life, his years in college, his tenure from 1973-76 as a law professor and his political life.

Scholars did not expect interviewers to discuss Monica Lewinsky, Kenneth Starr or others who figured into the criticism of Clinton's personal life.

Clinton, in town Friday for a fund-raiser, said he was grateful to the universities for their joint efforts.

OH? And just how do they expect to skip over the Monica year leading up to the impeachment? Not going to discuss it? Really!

From The UVA page:
oral history project

"We invite members of former presidential administrations to spend a day or two of quiet time with small groups of scholars reviewing and reflecting on their experiences in office. The sessions, conducted without publicity, are held in confidence. Transcripts are deposited in the appropriate presidential library with the approval of those interviewed. The library makes them available to the public under such terms as the individual interviewee may stipulate.
...the Miller Center is currently conducting an oral history of the Bush presidency with the support of the Bush Library Foundation. The Center is also resuming the oral history of the Reagan presidency begun in 1988 and proposes to undertake a similar project on the Clinton presidency. "

Hardly a "Program to Study Clinton's Life "!

Of course, to AP "It's all about Clinton."

Without the crap, clinton HAS no life. This might be a hoot. Leave out all the negatives and see what's left. There wouldn't be enough to fill an afterschool special, nevermind an entire program. They really are desperate to clean him up, aren't they?!?

Heh. Good one.

Seriously, didn't he tell some group of students that he WOULD inhale if he had the chance again?

Not much left to talk about, is there? :-)
