Report: U.S. sent to Afghanistan as 'last resort'

Friday, September 28, 2001 Tishrei 11, 5762 Israel Time: 12:58 (GMT+2)
The London-based Arabic daily Al Hayat reported Thursday that part of the American forces deployed to the Afghanistan area in advance of a planned military strike is equipped with tactical nuclear warheads. The report, that was published as the main headline in the paper, is based on Western sources. According to the newspapers, use of these weapons, with a power of from 2 to 10 kilotons, is considered a "last resort."
In addition, it was reported Wednesday from Moscow that Iranian Defense Secretary Ali Shamakhani will visit Russia next Monday. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said Monday that Shamakhani is supposed to sign a weapons deal that will include the acquisition of the S-300 anti-aircraft defense system and tanks.
Ivanov stressed that Russia is interested in developing the "military, economic and scientific relations with its neighbor Iran," but pointed out that the amount of weaponry Russia would sell to Iran "will not be large."
Russian News Agencies reported that Iran is interested in acquiring the S-300 system in order to defend its nuclear reactor in the city of Boshar.

A bit of dis-information perhaps?

This is not even believable! Logistically speaking, we are not going to clog our pipeline with just-in-case nukes--not to mention the security and protection requirements to move and store these things.

This is just plain silly.
Every U.S. aircraft carrier carries nukes and are part of the SIOP.
There is no need for nukes on the ground.

The London-based Arabic daily Al Hayat reported Thursday...........Al-Hayat is a terrorist mouthpiece.
Fox News showed a screed of an editorial from them this afternoon that called the suicide terrorists "the salt of the earth".
Toilet paper with Arabic writing on it.

Sure they use toilet paper? I am pretty sure that they just use their left hand.

Hey, that gives me an idea for a money making scheme.
How about we sell toilet paper with Osama's picture on it. =) Proceeds raised go to victim's fund for those killed 911.

Nuclear weapons were removed from Navy ships years ago. That is why this report is believable. One of those carriers probably just got stocked.

There is no need for nukes on the ground. You think the Air Force is going to let the Navy drop the first 'live' nuke since WW2?

Hey even though it's 3,000 degrees, it's still a dry kind of heat so I don't see why the Taliban would complain.
