As if the mid summer heat and fighting the Japanese weren't enough, tropical diseases like malaria and dengue fever took their toll on American troops in the Solomons. Good post SAM!

Morning CholeraJoe.

Guadacanal turned into a real slugfest on the land sea and air. There were several major naval battles fought because both sides trying to reinforce the ground troops and the other side was trying to stop them.

It'a a fascinating campaign to study.
