I wish I knew more about my fil's service in Korea and which battle earned him the purpleheart. I wish I knew more about my dad's service there as well. He was in the Navy, stationed aboard the USS Henderson. He never talked much about Korea, and I'll always regret not having asked him more questions. He died 2-1/2 years ago, but this thread prompted me to email my mother to see what info she can give me.

As far as I know, the lockdown on our barracks at Fort Sill was ordered by the Battalion Commander. Also as far as I know, it was post wide. (This was 1996.)
I also heard during the 2000 elections that such shenanigans were going on to eliminate the military vote, besides tossing the navy absentees.
What I do know was that we were ordered to remain in quarters without pass during election night on orders. And the next morning the LTC came in and snottily told us that we would be pleased to know that Bubba was still our 'commander in chief'.
If there's anyone who can elaborate on the more recent events like this one in 2000, I'd like to hear their end of the deal.
