Some of you asked me to write some more about my experiences all those years ago. This one is about a close call and my memories of it.
“I think youre a troll and a wannabe who is extremely jealous of real men. Project much?”
That’s as certain as the day is long.
He’s a 17yr old who jerks off to re-runs of “Combat”. Vic Marrow turns him on.
The VA has taken care of me about the residuals of my wounds and I have retired from a long and successful career - and this last marriage is really wonderful: 20 years and going strong.
I stopped any drinking at all about nine years ago and I keep in close touch with my buddies who made it back.
Other than the propensity to write about experiences that not everyone wants to hear about, I'm doing great.
Aye.
Aye.
Oh, we still call them that.
My dad never talks about his time in the service. The one time he told a story it involved hearing the screams of a thousand drowning men as his ship passed on by and did not stop to help.
ROFL
My money says that you are years younger than I. ;-)

“Thats as certain as the day is long.”
My money says that you are YEARS younger than I! ;-)
Go brag somewhere else.
However, many of us replying to your nonsense are actually physically known by other FReepers and the owner Jim Robinson.
So there's that.
So, without making it up, ole dog, tell us about yourself?
Do you like balls? Like to chase them?
Digging holes?
Bones?
Farting while you're curled up at your master's feet?
ROFL!
Helicopters were great but the tradeoff was that they were really noisy and visible and the enemy knew exactly where we were when we arrived. Now, there is no question at all of the superb usefulness in helicopter medevacs - I owe my life to 1st Lt McDonough and his crew in a UH-34D from HH-361. Marine medevac pilots were the best of the best and nobody any where was braver.
I think that we were more successful than the army at cornering the enemy because of our extensive walking in rather than flying. But I may be kidding myself - I need to see how the same sized units compare in the record.
When I was released from the hospital, I was assigned as a sergeant to HMMT-302 in Tustin and taught new door gunners how to shoot the .50 from that right window on CH-46s. Fun stuff!
Riveting story! Thanks for sharing.
My money says that you are years younger than I. ;-)

Only if you voted Eisenhower/Nixon
When one does not have something substantial to add to any argument then the only other option is to call names and ridicule.
Those things say a lot more about you than I.
ROFLMAOASTD
Eisenhower/Nixon? Even before that, youngster!
AH - HA - HA - HA - HA - HA!
Thank you!
I am surprised that nobody so far has asked me how the attack went..
My interpretation of the clause "as it related to U. S. security" is that the restriction only applies to those details that are actually relevant to US security. For example, names of informants, encryption protocols, capabilities of classified weapons, etc.
Battle stories not involving any of that, would NOT be covered.
By the fact that you're here writing about it, I'm assuming it was not a disaster.
So, how DID it go?
I’ll write the story tomorrow and let you know.
Present! Arms.
