I myself have heared many stories on how the men of the USS Forrestal maid mistakes and done what was right, when fighting the fires but all I know is, I was there and they did a wonderful job in saving the ship and it's crew. Thanks for commenting and blessing always to you and family.
I don't know about any mistakes. I know they did their jobs. And far more brave than I ever could be. They saved that ship and their shipmates.
We're you on the Forrestal?

Let me guess. You have never seen the Forrestal’s flight deck video of the rocket firing and hitting the plane next to McCain’s aircraft.

Uh dude the flame coming out of McStains plane is what set off the HEAT SEEKING missile. :-) Uh, dimwit, McCain's airplane was across the flight deck from the airplane that accidentally launched the missile with his tailpipe pointed outboard. So unless his plane gave off a flame that was about 120 feet long and did a 170 degree turn then it didn't set off anything.

Today also happens to be the 73rd. anniversary of the tragedy of the sinking of the U.S.S. Indianapolis.
