I wish I was amazed. The Internet hosts more pubic lice than the Blue Oyster Bar, which is probably where some of these dropkicks are posting from. It's a wonderful uplifting story with the negative comments saying more about the poster, than the post.
I agree with all of you. This was a heart warming story of friendship.
If I had to pick an “artisan” beer snob or PBR drinkin’ Chickie to bend an elbow with, I’d take the Chickies of the world any day of the week.
So it was basically the big brewers that dominated. Anheuser-Busch; Miller; Pabst; Schlitz, ect. Not the best of times to be fussy or a connoisseur with regard to your beer.
In the early 1980s, I was in the Marines and on a field operation in the Mojave Desert. 100+ degree temps and 16-hour days. One night, the officers brought in a portable movie screen and tubs full of cold Budweiser on ice. I forget the movie they showed us but I'll never forget how delicious that Budweiser beer tasted to me.
These days, I'm spoiled and would not drink that swill again.

I’d have loved to have seen all these hipster age hop-head douches having to deal with the typical beer selection available in the stores circa 1970’s.
In the South we had Bush, Bud, Michalob, Miller products, Schlitz, Pabst, Stroh’s(which I liked), Rolling Rock and Malt liquors were the standard fare. A few large scale local breweries like Dixie and Jax were not regionally available.
Heinekin, Becks, St. Paulie Girl,and Moosehead where high end beers.
Kids today don’t know what a life of luxury they live.
LOL, Hubby just watched this. He was in Saigon at the time, had just gone on duty when the ammo dump blew. He said “that guy was a fool though, I tell you that”.
