Your position is not reinforced with me. I happen to live in a place where the local police and particularly the county sheriff's office still make a great effort to serve and protect, to use the shopworn phrase.
I understand that this is not the situation in many, many places in the country, and I sympathize. Or, more accurately, I am sickened by police abuse, when it happens.
I posted a picture of Holder precisely because YOU said it wasn't hippies who were causing the problem. I think it IS, in large part. If one thinks the hippies are innocent, and the cops are guilty, then one is (so it seems to me) implying that the right-wing fascists are behind the violence...when to me it is probably a lot closer to the truth the the left-wing statists are the source of the jack-boot behavior.
In your message now you, like I, put the blame on the leftists and the police state they are fostering...well, if that is what you believe, then we don't disagree much. Believe me, I was sickened by what I saw in the streets and neighborhoods of Boston after the Marathon bombing...my lord, people cowering in homes, Boston's finest drawing a bead on any living or moving thing...sickening!
But I would impress upon you my first point again: cops are not the same everywhere. I respect and appreciate the law enforcement in my area (for the most part), and when I see someone saying 'cops are the enemy' (I know you didn't say that) it strikes my ears like someone saying all blacks are bad, or all whites, or all Scandinavians, whatever.
Look, as I say we probably don't disagree much. Sometimes I find myself wanted to stand up for cops just because my experience with them has been so positive.
