Not as good as having the old St. Paul right off shore, though. Buggers could shoot. Eight inch naval general purpose is very effective. Over a ton to a broadside, and if you asked you got a broadside about every five seconds. Fired one shot at a time, to correct for ship recoil, accuracy was very high if the range was short, like ten miles.
