I've known a few EMT's who had similar stories:
The cops don't determine whether the victim is alive. our EMT company says "nobody dies in our vehicles, so we let the hospitals pronounce them dead or DOA. It is inside their walls.
Patient could have been beyond the help of the EMTs. Not at all am I allowing for anyone's actions, or lack thereof, just offering what I heard.
