Facts are a stubborn thing. I'll let Ron Paul's words speak for themselves. He directly said our foreign meddling is responsible for the attacks. You wish to deny that?

Do you, or do you not, believe that putting US troops all over the globe helps encourage Muslims to join terrorist ranks? Now if you don’t believe that it encourages it, you are seriously stupid. If you do, then you can see where Paul is coming from. It’s really that simple.
Actually he was asked directly, (in a rare MSM interview) about this and he unequivocally stated that the individuals were responsible for the attacks. He elaborated that the US foreign policy of meddling was the motivation of the guilty individuals.
If I was to kill my neighbor for parking his car on my front lawn I would be responsible. My motivation for killing him would be his actions, which doesn't excuse my actions it just explains them.
