I'm fine with expecting Christian leaders to apply consistent standards to politicians. If they condemned Clinton for certain things, they shouldn't give Bush a pass on them.
I'm not so big on the Confederate flag thing, one way or the other. If it causes so much fuss, it's become a distraction. But the article does reflect that some people feel it is a way to honor the Southerners who died during the Civil War. Their cause was not especially noble. But the Union was never fighting for freeing the slaves either. It turned out that way but Lincoln didn't intend for it to happen.
