JPII: Church's Social Work Is Not Political, Gospel Message Must Accompany Aid

It was one of the greatest blessings that I in no way deserved and is a blessing that has continued to bear unexpected sweet fruit in our grown children and their families. I also pray what I experienced and learned from Mother will bring wonderful things to bear as we raise our three children here at home with us. I feel very strongly that Mother was interceding for these children and that's why we found out about them and were able to adopt them so easily.

I think Mother Teresa's hand can be seen in many beautiful things that have come to my family, and I pray to the Lord that I can better convey the wisdom and teachings and experiences I first learned from Mother that there were things I needed to work on in a big way Mother was the first person to tell me to turn my "well known" Irish hot-headedness into zeal for Jesus present in the poor, zeal for Jesus in the forgotten and abused children, and zeal for Jesus present in the Blessed Sacrament and in every Tabernacle of the Church. But the most important thing was hearing her teach us that we should say often throughout the day "Jesus, alive in my heart, I love you." and seriously embrace our identity as living tabernacles of Christ truly present in us for the very life of the world.
