LOL. I come from El Ohim.
To: JesseShurun
I come from El Ohim.
How trite. I meant in an earthly aspect. You know, I'm from Texas, and thank God for that, and you're from ???

Is Dr. Walvoord immature or is he a reprobate? What about S. Lewis Johnson, Lanier Burns, John Hannah, Howard Hendricks, Clair Davis, etc., etc,? I know all of these men personally and have studied under them. That's easy. I cheerfully assume that they are immature rather than reprobate.
I know S. Lewis Johnson. He is a fine Christian with an immature eschatology. It's a blind spot on his part.
I have read a critique by Lanier Burns of a friend's paper on amillennial theology, and it seemed to be a generally polite but woefully inadequate response to the questions raised in the paper. (And the very inadequacy of Burns's response gave it a rather ugly quality, as I recall.)
I know of Walvoord and Hendricks by reputation only, but I frankly doubt that they are finer Christians than S. Lewis Johnson. So, why should I be intimidated by your name-dropping? (grin)
I consider your statement about them a sub-Christian insult.
I think you are too enamored with DTS faculty members. Gosh, you act like I have trashed your spiritual heroes personally. I haven't. I have just said that they are immature in some ways.
Your statement is precisely the reason I have no desire to discuss theology with you.
You are taking what I would dare to call histrionic offense. It's your main defense mechanism. It keeps you from addressing the fatal flaws in your position and gives you "cover" for your refusal to discuss millennial theology with someone who may very well know the topic better than the typical DTS grad.
I will charitably assume that you don't fully realize what is going on in your soul.
You have a serious problem of a DTS party spirit. You are in violation of 1 Corinthians 3. This is the real reason why you won't discuss 2 Peter 3. You have locked yourself out of the truth of the millennium.

I from the one that sent me.
So, in other words, for whatever reason, you're not going to state where you're from. Why is that so problematic for you?

Here's what I've observed. I've spent the past month looking at amillenialism, and I've examined it as fairly as I think I can. I've also discussed this at great length with some of the elders of my assembly.
I take issue with your assertion equating transubstantiation and premillenialism. One is almost flatly contradicted by Hebrews 9-10, as well as a few other passages (as well as defying all common sense. It is self-evident the host does not become flesh and the wine does not become blood. They maintain their own chemical identities.) The other is at worst an oversimplification of a still partly veiled topic.
As I examined amillenialism, I was struck by the hoops that amils take to explain the book of Revelation. I read Hendikson's More than Conquerors. The writer went to great pains to apply all of the tribulation to the past 2000 years of church history, which is at best a stretch. Everything is an allegory -- nothing means what it says. IT raises some VERY excellant points, but by no means is conclusive.
There are reasonable cases to be made either way: I remain premillenial, but have a respect for the other position. Should not some respect be accorded in our direction? Christians may disagree on doctrines -- how on earth is that a sign of immaturity?
To: philman_36
Why is that problematic for you?
To: the_doc; restornu
BTW, Clair Davis is a Westminster faculty member (historic premil).
***I know S. Lewis Johnson. He is a fine Christian with an immature eschatology.***
So now premils are either reprobates, immature, OR fine Christians with immature eschatology. You're softening up.
***I will charitably assume that you don't fully realize what is going on in your soul.***
Fine. Restornu also thinks she knows what's in my "weenie soul" too. Your analysis will be filed with hers.
***You have a serious problem of a DTS party spirit.***
Nope. Just listing men I knew personally that were smeared by your broad brush statement. If you have followed my posts, I have great respect for my instructors at Westminster. They were gracious men who never made such brazen statements as you have.

I come from El Ohim.
I from the one that sent me.
An afterthought...Are you saying you're a prophet of God or have you been sent by someone else of a more earthly aspect, perhaps one of your "emminent ones" which you have never identified?
It seems to be what you're implying. Maybe you should just state outright by a yeah or nay and relieve me of my confusion.
To: philman_36
I will never relieve you of your confusion, would that I could
To: JesseShurun
Why is that problematic for you?
It's not problematic for me at all. It's only a matter of some curiosity, but it is dissembling on your part which is not a very appealing thing.
Nevertheless, it is an inconsequential, but telling matter. If you wish to maintain a facade it is your right to do so.
To: JesseShurun
I will never relieve you of your confusion, would that I could
Yes, I've seen that you prefer dissembling.
To: philman_36
I am not dissembling. I have answered you as honestly as I could. If you can't handle the truth, then let the Truth handle you
To: philman_36
I am going to tell the emminent ones that you hate me
To: JesseShurun
I have answered you as honestly as I could.
I would disagree. Simply giving a geographical location wherein you reside or domecile would be answering honestly. You do have an earthly abode, don't you? You haven't done so and it is dissembling and you're caught out.
I'd honestly like to know if you're even an American.
To: philman_36
I have an earthly abode, but I am not from there
To: JesseShurun
I am going to tell the emminent ones that you hate me
Who, exactly, are the emminent ones and where have I stated that I hate you?
You're beginning to get weird.
To: philman_36
I am really weird. In fact a prophet told me so, just a week or two ago and even he has no idea
To: JesseShurun
I have an earthly abode, but I am not from there
Where then do you originally hail from, in the earthly aspect?
