It is indeed. We will remember them in prayer and in doing so glorify Christ. :)

I just re-read this post again... so tragic. We rail on and on about the world we live in, look at these poor souls and what they lived (and some didn't make it) through.
It makes me so happy that not one of us has used it as "buckshot" against our FR Orthodox Christian brothers and sisters. If the situation were reversed, I don't know if I could say the same (and you know [who] what I mean).

so tragic. We rail on and on about the world we live in, look at these poor souls and what they lived (and some didn't make it) through. I'm reading "Catholic Martyrs of the 20th Century." We should all read it, as well as re read this thread. By any measure...materially, health, freedom....We have it better than 99.9% of all men and women who EVER lived.
What have we as a nation done with these temporal blessings? We feed the hungry...and we kill their babies. We educate the illiterate, and export pornography to then ensnare their souls. We give loans for infrastructure, but at the price of coercive population control.
God have Mercy on us.

That is an outstanding post. You are correct in your analysis. I posted this on another thread and it is very much worth the read. Cardinal Newman takes us to task, and gives an insight on how the early Christian martyrs had it. Very sobering.

It's hard to believe sometimes that people survive this kind of persecution. We have it so good and so many people just don't appreciate it.
Lord, please, have mercy on us.

Thank you for this post. We often forget what others have gone through for our religion to continue. It makes one wonder could we do this! Are we in this day and age strong enough to endure what the people of our past have endured. I would want to imagine we would. As always though we cannot answer truthfully unless we are living in those conditions and that may come to pass.....

.45MAN, thank-you for the ping to this thread. I am overwhelmed after reading it.
JMJ333, thank-you for re-bumping it. This is a story that needs to be told - over and over and often!

You're welcome. It is indeed a hard read, and we really do have it comfortable in this country. I believe things like this on a similar magnitude are happening in the aisan countries, especially the ones who still have communist influence. We must pray for them to have strngth to endure these trial. May the spirit of the early martyrs enflame them. And we can also see what a shameful state the American Bishops are in. They are comfortable, and they should not be. They should be under the gun. The truth is they should be banging the pots and pans against abortion and not stopping. This is what we need to draw our line in the sand.
