We are the Body of Christ. Truly. The Eucharist is the Body and Blood of Christ. Truly.

Eucharist as self-cannibalization?

That would seem to be the bizarre, but logical, conclusion.

Bizarre?

Three persons in one God isn't "bizarre"?
Parting an entire sea?
40 days/nights of rain flooding the Earth?
We are His body... do we worship ourselves?

Plenty of it is "bizarre".

It is also true.

I guess the question should be, has your cat reached the age of accountability and should he or she be held accountable. :-)

He knows only too well, that in the future the housecat will lay down with the chipmunk, so he's getting while the gettin's good.

The Church (from the beginning to the present day) has always had a foundation ... that of JESUS (the chief cornerstone) and His Apostles.

Please. I was only using the exact same words you did.

I even posted them verbatim. Do I need to post them again, yet again, to remind you?

I can understand that you don't have an answer, but don't try to change the definitions you brought forward.

If the Apostles ministry was foundational, and the Church was built upon that ministry ... is there any further need for any foundational ministry ?

I asked what is meant by "foundational ministry"? I also asked if, in a sense, every new generation is not encountering the foundation?

That is, why is the presumption that this "foundational ministry" fades away with the Apostles death? And where is this shown in Scripture?

Foundational ministry would be the laying of the foundation.

In the case of Christianity, this has already been done.
I Corinthians 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Any further foundational work would merely be the maintaining of that foundation which was laid.

Is it even appropriate to continue work on the foundation ... after beginning to build the main part of the structure ?

Again, I ask, using your own words and definitions here, if upon building the higher floors we suddenly have no need for a foundation?

Once again, ... the foundation (that of JESUS and the Apostles) has been laid ... it exists ... and it is not going anywhere.

The present Yankees dynasty may be the greatest baseball team ever fielded. They have won four world series, and could have won two more. The quality of their starting pitching, their relief pitching, their batting and their defense is phenomenal. Under the measured guidance of the great Joe Torre, this mix of outstanding young players and veterans reintroduced the very concept of "dynasty" to modern baseball. George Steinbrenner may be the best owner ever, willing to do whatever it takes to put the best team possible on the field. One can truly affirm that this team is unsurpassed by any teams in the past, and any possible future team. Now, in saying this, we are far from attributing to the present-day dynasty a status reserved for the 1923 team alone.

None of these are forbidden in scripture. Consuming blood is.

Good. Maybe some team in America will be that good someday and not just some foreign country. :-)

Gee. I can't think of anything forbidden in Scripture which is now OK. And I can't think of anythink required in Scripture which is now not required. </ sarcasm>

When the guy who makes the rules tells you something... you don't say "surely not Oh Lord!"

Sorry Dave, but I don't think you're kosher.

You responded positively ("yum"?) to my comment a few days ago about a steak and cheese sub. That wouldn't be kosher either, right?

You're not willing to make exceptions for your friends?

I don't recall any NC making the opposite argument. Usually, if the NCs differ they will let each other know.

Ah, so applying Romanist Philosophy practices to debate. If it isn't there, make it up. How appropose. I didn't buy it when you said it. But at least it makes sense now. Since you made it up, when does it become dogma?
