But, anyway. The Mariner Valley on Mars simply shows the effects of water erosion. There is lots of evidence for water erosion on Mars.
Besides, the Belgians never mentioned finding any fulgarites among the gumme plantations in the area [1].
[1] This is an obscure reference to a defunct RPG known as Space 1889. It's one of the first Victorian Science Fiction Games to hit the market and it's a real hoot.
I did not realize this was some sort of contest. I assert that evolution is not owned by Darwin. That random mutation does not appear to be random and that natural selection may not be external to the organism. These things can only have a chance at being true only if evolution exists outside of the Darwinian myopia which you and js1138 seem to have. Demonstrated by these statements
If evolution does not exist as a process,
Otherwise, you'd be back to evolution
Besides, as I pointed out, intelligence is a product of physical processes; those physical processes are natural so intelligence must be natural.
Really? An "electrical arc crater"??? What an interesting idea, and here I thought you came up with that hypothesis yourself.
Sorry to burst your self-imposed bubble of disinformation, but there is evidence that liquid water once flowed across the surface of Mars, and that Valles Marineris was probably cut by water...just like the Grand Canyon.
But please, continue to champion the oddball hypotheses. Your arguments are at the very least diverting.
How would a 5000-kilometer river work? Where would it flow from? Where would it flow to? How would you get a constant downward flow of water for 5000 kilometers, or would the water flow downhill in some places and uphill in others?
There's the Barranca del Cobre. It's not like the Grand Canyon exactly; it's bigger and deeper and prettier.
Not to mention the Gorges du Verdon (a bit smaller.)
Absolutely, if the values do not exist.
Why do you think they don't exist? A particular combination of genes produces an organism which is more or less fit than some other combination. When we are talking about the degree of fitness we are talking about the value of fitness function.
No. You've understood far more than most lurkers, or participants. However, you say: deliberate misunderstanding is a poor debating strategy, and this isn't quite true. In a short debate, it's an excellent tactic, very similar to stonewalling. In an untimed dialogue, it does become a transparent device, and loses its effectiveness. It can, however, wear down all but the most determined opponents.
Tell that to accident victims.
You are kidding, right? Are you saying that the probability of an accident increases when you eat healthier food????
Grand canyons on mars?
I could have predicted that one!
God created the appearance of evolution just give the rumnots something to get high--off on!
I've seen monkeys masturbating at the zoo!
Hell's Canyon
Cotahuasi (11000ft deep)
Yarlung Zangbo
Colca
Monterey Canyon (4000m deep)
As a mathematical entity they don't exist until they are produced. Odd numbers exist, even numbers exist, fitness values don't.
I have heard the mermaids calling, each to each. I do not think they call to you.
No. No.
There is a correlation between certain eating habits and longevity. There is no definite "will happen" in that correlation. There is a definite "will happen" when one does not eat.
Well, the Nile, the Yangtze, and the Amazon are all longer than 6000 kilometers. The Rio Bravo del Norte (outside my back door) is over 3000 kilometers long.
You are right but the real problem with "what are the chances of getting XYZ right" is that it's the same type of question as "what are the chances of getting the right size legs to be able to stand on the ground" (Physicist's point?)
OK, but don't get caught with the pics on your PC.
I agree that while it does tend to wear on the participants, for (some of) the lurkers following the discussion, especially those of us (i.e., me) who find it relatively easy to identify and click on underlined words, it damn-near completely invalidates that particular poster's credibility.
Or perhaps I err in assuming that those particular individual posters keep lurkers in mind...
