Good morning to you.
.over how the last one uses the skylight (or some kind of light source?) shining through the stained glass to illuminate the presence of the dove, and the statues 3-d appearance to boost the whole scene. A well done piece
Good Morning Dan, and good morning to all.
Such a variety today;

#60 Van Der Werff
With many beautiful windows, and even the master #70 Bernini
Thank You Dan for your joyful labor, and this meaningful gathering place!
Good morning and thank you!

Several years ago, a dear pastor friend (now in heaven) invited me to tour the United Methodist church where she once pastored. We walked through the various rooms, and when we got to the sanctuary, she told me an extraordinary experience she had there.
She recanted, “I was praying earnestly to the LORD if the congregation understood the Scriptures and the sermons she gave. When I looked up, I saw tongues of fire lite on every seat of every pew.

“Pentecost”
is the closest to what I believe happened on Pentecost.
The members of her church and several others in the area unanimously broke away from the denomination to join the Global Methodist Church.
Rather unique, I’d say. That’s why I put it last, because its focus is not on the people receiving the Spirit but rather on the fact of His descent.
Hi, Alba. Hang in there.
I agree. It really focuses the attention on thst concept. One of my favorite pieces now.
I've heard other reports of the Spirit's current-day miraculous interventions in the church. Your friend's faith, provided to her in the first place by the Spirit, opened the door for His intervention at those critical junctures.

the ultimate challenge for an artist...
how to confine the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in a 2d or 3d space
Agreed. :)
I liked 50 too for the colors and modern touch to the painting.
When I was a church elder, often I was asked to deliver sermons when the senior pastor was away. Then, I learned firsthand that while I am gifted to teach, I am not gifted to preach.
As I consider the challenge you outlined, I realize I am not gifted to be an artist, because I have no inkling how I would solve it--whereas a gifted artist would. In that sense, then, I realize that Bernini and those like him are gifted visual preachers.
Hi Bob,
I love He Qi’s style. He has a fresh approach, and his colors are happy =:^)
His ‘Christian art philosophy’ is likewise innovative:
