Good examples, of which there are many. We are just like Christ and He healed everyone he came in contact with, therefore He desires that we be healed and we heal others. If you don’t believe healing is for everyone, why would He say in Matthew 10:8 heal the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead, cast out demons. FREELY YOU HAVE RECEIVED, freely give.
Anyone that reads the Word with an open heart cannot deny the truth of His Word that healing is ours and was done on the cross. If you believe that Christ died for our salvation and that He desires that everyone come to repentance then you have to believe He died for our healing (same root word, sozo) and desires that everyone be healed. Believing that God ‘cherry picks’ who he heals and who he doesn’t is a cruel joke and not biblically grounded.
So God promises to do something for Abraham and Sarah, and what is their response????? Some great examples of “positive confessions” right there. They LAUGHED at what God told them!
You’d going to have to try harder to provide a decent example of a “positive confession”.
Genesis 17:17-18 Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, “Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?” And Abraham said to God, “Oh that Ishmael might live before you!”
Genesis18:9-15 They said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” And he said, “She is in the tent.” The Lord said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife shall have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent door behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years. The way of women had ceased to be with Sarah.
So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I am worn out, and my lord is old, shall I have pleasure?” The Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.” But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. He said, “No, but you did laugh.”
metmom Abraham and Sarah’s names where their cofession. Confession mean to say the same thing and their names were what God said. So, they did confess what God said. But, here are some from The New Testament:
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.
That word profession means confession Strongs Concordance #3671.
Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. That word salvation means to save, deliver, protect, heal, preserve, make whole.
Jesus said in Mark 5:34, “Your faith has made you whole(same word)”. What she kept saying and what she did made her whole.
And Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:13 that when you believe you speak. 13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak. So, if you believe the word you will speak it. Even Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. That concerns anything including healing.
Do you think you’ll die at some point, Mr. Broom?
There confession was not what enabled them to conceive. WhenGod changes your name and tells you to use it, you obey. That is not a matter of positive confession. It’s a matter of simple obedience.
It was God’s promise to them as He was working out His will through them.
It continues to amaze me how some people will blind themselves to the truth found in Scripture and use any Scripture they find to support some unscriptural doctrine or theology they have latched on to.
The word of faith, positive confession nonsense is absolute proof of that. Especially since you have not provided so much as one clear example of Jesus or the apostles actually teaching or practicing it either, but just rationalize Scripture away to support what you want to believe in.
Their confession…..
Sheesh.
Which is nothing more that your opinion, unless you have several verses to support that statement that it specifically includes healing.
