The Bible In Paintings: EZEKIEL'S VISION OF DRY BONES

Posted on 8/9/2022, 5:47:43 AM by Hebrews 11:6

A Sol is 39 minutes and ~35 seconds longer than an Earth day.

Interesting timing for the doubling of that particular message (verses 9-11),

"because the Son of David begins with Mars ♂️"

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

EZEKIEL'S VISION OF DRY BONES:

I can hear the sounds of violins
Long before it begins

So glad you posted on Ezekiel's thread. I suppose I should have pinged you.

Thanks for noticing and then alerting us to the co-incidence of your post just prior to this. For the observant, God keeps them even more on their toes, so that he who has will have more.

Extremely interesting testimonials populate the comments below that video.

"Friday's disappointment is Sunday's empty tomb."

Self-regeneration is not a thing.

Not?

The text says:

This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones:
I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.
I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin;
I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’ ”

Note each of these actions is preceded with "I will", an active intervention.

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and
the bones came together, bone to bone.

"came together", a passive event.

Your mileage may vary.

I knew that song as a child, but had no idea what it was about...until I read the Bible as a young adult.

Besides, it's not just any Messiah. This one's the Kinnor Messiah, kept alone and isolated under glass at Elias' place.

Only the names have changed.

It's nice to keep with the original wood because "museum" derives from Muses, the root of music.

Stradivarius -- 5 stars! The best of the best.

The gist of Queen Esther's appeal:

*This* is an emergency.

So is this where those Capuchin guys got the idea to decorate with walls of bones and skulls...?
Saw the bones (/) in Rome years ago, in a couple of places actually... never got it.

Crazy Catholics...lol

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2

That is a real photo? Unreal! If I saw that coming at me...wow!

I saw a "roll cloud" once...it came right over me and stirred everything up rather violently - I ran into the house!

I like the way the majority depicted the wind. I count at least 16 of the selections featured the wind. Especially #3 & #26...showing 4, for the cardinal compass points.

I like #30...it shows good anatomy, and you really get a sense of thew bones & sinews "knitting".

Thank you!

I think the thing that impresses me more and more, is that there would be no beauty - or, a lot less beauty, if it weren't for God's inspiration.

By "God" I mean the God of the Bible.

There's so much beauty in these threads that you post! I imagine standing in front of these paintings/works with you & many others on these threads & just admiring, learning, and appreciating it all together...

As TS Eliot said; "It's impossible to say what I mean!"

(& that common failing never stopped a single poet from trying to describe "it all" anyway!)

Thought you had it right initially: "no beauty".
