Why should their sin be elevated to a special status? Should we celebrate greed month? How about killers month? Thief month? You get the idea.
Also, there is nothing physically(especially with monkey pox), mentally (domestic violence is rampant), and spiritually healthy about their lifestyle. Why promote what is unnatural and unhealthy?
a cynical chap might wonder if the Martins of the priesthood are trying to make common cause to normalize pedophilia. the current leadership of the church wonders why mass attendance continues to drop.
” Catholic liturgical calendar’s June devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is actually “complementary” with “Pride Month,” which celebrates people who engage in homosexual lifestyles.”
Ahhhh.....So Fr. Martin thinks the King of the Universe can share worship, glory and praise due to him with a bunch of homosexuals.
Boy, is that ever idolatry
And I am not a theologian. Just a born and bred old Cathoic..
I wonder if there might be some acknowledgement , on the part of Catholic same-sex attracted people, that sexual promiscuity of ANY kind leads to sickness, broken hearts, hardened hearts and lost lives. (I do not have the right words at this time to say more than that to them, to address the subject of long term monogamous homosexual relationships.). So, we are all asked to refrain from hurting ourselves and each other, no matter who we are.
Also, I wonder if it is worth reminding folks that God Always asks us to do more, live more purely and holy than we are capable of, because He wants us to ask for His help, to put real, complete Trust in Him.
Our response should be to double down and make this devotion even more well-known and beloved. Let's not cede ground: take back the month of June for Our Lord:
Good response. Wouldn’t hurt to take along some blessed salt and holy water to surreptitiously spread around the place before the event.
"Behold, the Cross of the Lord! Begone, all evil powers! The Lion of the tribe of Judah, The Root of David, has conquered! Alleluia!" (St Anthony of the Desert)
Whose Feast Day is June 13th.
