…those who are rooted in the previous form of celebration and need to return in due time to the Roman Rite promulgated by Saints Paul VI and John Paul II. [Emphasis added]

Made sense to me, but I'm weird.

So the Latin Mass goes underground as in the early days of Christianity. Doesn’t he know he can’t stop God?

I pray for an actual Catholic to become the next Pope & hope he will prayerfully abrogate everything this anti-Pope has implemented!!!

The perennial Roman Rite, the free use of which was granted by Pope St. Pius V in perpetuity, has been reduced to “the previous form of celebration” to be discarded at will and thrown into the trash.

No, this will not stand. It may go down as one of the biggest papal blunders in history. The Traditional Mass and the Faith which it expresses will only grow while the Novus Ordo parishes wither on the vine.

Unfortunately, this is how schisms begin.

Perhaps a Catholic background helps? I have none. LOL.

I clicked on this by mistake thinking somehow it had to do with getting rid of the current loon who is pope and replacing him with someone or something else.

Now, not only do I not understand what I just read, I don’t care.

This is why the Congregationalist model is the appropriate for all churches. No church should answer to anyone other than God in his Trinitarion revelation through scripture and their own congregation.

Not the model of authority established in Scripture; see the later Pauline letters.

Also precisely the model of authority that gave us the Unitarian Universalists.

“God speaks Latin.” My high school Latin teacher, circa 1983.

But there’s an even bigger, more uncomfortable truth staring the deniers in the face, if only they would open their eyes: Any putative pope that would move to abrogate the Mass of Ages cannot be but an antipope. It’s time to acknowledge reality: Jorge Bergoglio isn’t a Catholic of any rank, much less is he the Vicar of Christ.

How can he do that? He’s still in the hospital.

Really, show me a different model from scripture. Paul refused to build on another’s foundation.

The word of God is spoken in many languages.

The meaning of the Word of God never changes - it is immutable and eternal truth.

The Latin Mass is also eternal and largely immutable and eternal because it is based on a long dead language which is resistant to the kind of innovation and change that Frankie wants to impose on the church.

Abrogating the Latin Mass is central to instituting the innovations and changes Frankie wants to impose upon The Church.

If he gets his way, by the time Frankie is done with his fundamental change of the Catholic Church, people will search for Jesus but they will search in vain because he will be nowhere to be found.

He says clearly in a couple of places that he appointed overseers (Gk “episkopoi,” from which we get the English word “bishop”) in every town. That’s not a congregational model of church authority, but an episcopal one.

That translates into elder. Each church should be governed by a plurality of it’s elders - just as the Church in Rome was originally.
