God transcends time and so does the sacrifice of Christ. We were told Abraham believed and it was credited to him as righteousness.

"The bible calls these Christian churches Harlots. The Catholic church of course being the Great Whore."
ahh.. there it is Phil , right on time....
Harlots , Whores and Anti-Christs...Oh my...
Take out your Bible Philly - Matt 12....
Jesus Christ TELLS US THERE IS ONE UNFORGIVABLE SIN ... Do you know what that is Phil? (Pretty important stuff there - ie. The Church)
It is so important EVEN his BLOOD won't expiate THAT sin... you can even blaspheme the Son - JESUS SAYS- and that WILL BE forgiven if repented...but NOT AGIN the Holy Spirit... So thats pretty important, agreed?.
So what does Jesus Christ tell us NEXT??... That the sin against the Holy Spirit IS SO BAD ....
it will Not be forgiven neither in this world, NOR IN THE WORLD TO COME !!!
Nothing UNCLEAN can ENTER HEAVEN - agree? So sins AREN'T FORGIVEN in Heaven---they can't get in.... So WHAT IS THIS "IN THE WORLD TO COME" JESUS CHRIST PROMISES you and me...?? And OBVIOUSLY CHRIST SAYS- THAT THIS WORLD TO COME WILL BE A FORGIVING sins AS WELL.... So just waht is it Jesus Christ is talking about her Phil???
Well its called...PURGATORY
Aren't you calling Christ a LIAR if you don't believe in this "world to come" he is quite serious about?
31+++" Therefore I say to you: Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but the blasphemy of the Spirit shall not be forgiven.
32 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but he that shall speak against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in the world to come"""

That list can easily be found in non-Catholic churches too. You realize that, don’t you?

What does my post #66 have to do you your post #82 and purgatory? Sounds like Catholic gibberish.
To: metmom
...the blood of Jesus is not enough to forgive and cleanse us from sin.So everybody goes to Heaven and Hell is empty.
What blasphemy.

How can you not get it but keep doubling down on that Catholic fabrication of how born again believers think?

“there’s no answer from the Word of God that I can give you that you will accept, because you don’t believe it.”
Right back at ya!
To: Philsworld
Can you answer the question for me? YES OR NO ??
Matt 12 ...
WHAT IS THE "world to come" where sins can be forgiven- if it is NOT IN THIS WORLD???
It may be gibberish to you.... but these are the Words OF JESUS CHRIST.....

Maybe same way Born Againers double down on that fabication of how Catholic believers think?
To: Mom MD
Yep. Just like Christs sacrifice credited Mary with righteousness.
To: MurphsLaw
I will answer your question but not until you answer mine.
Why did every Protestant reformer identify the Catholic church as the Antichrist power?
To: al_c
Of course, it goes w/o saying.

Typical knee jerk Catholic response.
For the umpteenth time, it’s not that ministers fail. It happens and we all know it and know that there’s no fool proof way to prevent it.
The problem is the Catholic religion’s handling of the problem.
When a Prot minister or pastor or leader is accused of something like that, it usually involves words like, “arrested”, “jail”, “charges” , “ removed from office”. “credentials yanked” and so on
.
When a Catholic preist has been found out, it involves moving him to a different parish and hushing the whole thing up, ordering the victims to not talk about it at risk of their eternal destiny.
That’s what the difference is and what we object to. The Catholic religion has done nothing more for years than to watch the door while the abuse was going on and then rewarding the offenders by protecting them and shifting them to fresh, unsuspecting victims.
They didn’t do anything until they were FORCED to and they are still dragging their feet about it.
The Bible that Catholics claim their own church wrote tells exactly how to deal with sexual immorality or sin in the midst of the church, and the Catholic religion has not done so.
Or at least not until people refused to be intimidate and cowed and went public with it and the religion finally had to deal with it as damage control.
Pretty pathetic reason.

Ummmm...Phil... The obvious question is that the "reformers" (how many were there?) would need the derision to make THEIR NEW AND IMPROVED brand of Christianity more appealing to their cause to gain the favor of those who "waver" and had a hard time with Latin.... that's pretty obvious Phil...
Clearly you must not be in sales...
But anyway...ok... the Church is the Anti-Christ and the Holy Spirit has been asleep on the job for 2000 years.. .ok I'm down with that for now....
but ONLY until you can tell me.... If you know...
what is this "world to come" where sins can be Forgiven... that Christ speaks of in Matt 12?
I am genuinely interested in what you think when you read those verses...

If God is punishing in anyway, temporal, whatever you want to call it, sins that are forgiven, then He is an unjust god.
If they are forgiven, there’s no punishment.
If there’s punishment, then they have not been forgiven. The person is then trying to work off the debt owed for the sin committed. And that’s not forgiveness.
Forgiveness is wiping the slate clean, period. Releasing the debt owed so the person does not have to answer for it ever again.

You make very good points.
Catholics are indeed sinners... and the Clergy entrusted with the Church are sinners to a higher degree.... We don't go to Mass because we are good.... we go because we know we aren't.
But this got me thinking... given your disdain with Catholics- and I am not faulting you here, the hits just seem to keep coming for us... - but with regard to the Protestant ideal of denying a cleansing fire of Purgatory....
won't you find yourself shoulder to shoulder with these same Catholics in Heaven if our earthly sins are dismissed upon death??

That has got to be the sloppiest answer to any question I have ever seen. It’s like you don’t even care. So, put a little effort into it and try again.
To: MurphsLaw
None of us have a problem with Catholics in Heaven. Pointing out faulty doctrine is meant to help more experience the grace of God not less
