A lovely idea, beautifully expressed. Thank you for so gracing our day!
Tapestry and glass, each more beautiful than the last.
I started with sculptures, figuring we'd soar from there. It is so good to see the enthusiasm inherent in these marvelous works, the highest expression, really, of humans' artistic inspiration.
My stained glass story is far less significant, except to me.
Our first home was a Victorian home with four bay windows, beveled glass window facing east that shot rainbows across the dining room and living room floors, and a 2x2 foot stained glass window at the landing between the first floor and the second. We loved the home, although it was old, built in 1906.
I lost my job in Cleveland and got one in Peoria. We had a week to find a house. We looked at 20 homes in 3 days. Nothing was right. Then we found this home with a beautiful addition to the dining room, paneled in cedar with a jacuzzi in it, four skylights and ten vertical windows. That sold us the house.
After we agreed to buy it, we walked out the house and I noticed by the front door, two stained glass windows of lilies. I took it as a sign from God this was to be our home. I hadn’t prayed for glass windows but God gave them any way.
After 33 years, I’m still happy here.
Cute.
I love stories, and story-tellers, which overtly recognize God’s unexpected benevolence.
It sounds LOVELY!
:-)
Sculpture numbered 2 is exquisite.
Many, many more--75 MORE!--views HERE.
It’s such an amazing building. My art history professor was rather dirisive about it, but I love it, and am sorry I didn’t get to see it when I was in Barcelona in the dead of December, where it is light out about four hours a day! What’s more amazing is that construction is continuing on according to Gaudi’s plan. May it bless many and convert the lost.
