I was in college in the mid 80’s in biology class and the instructor who was a dead ringer for Joe Stalin looks wise read an article from a newspaper about an experiment in Italy where a human/ape hybrid had been breed in the lab and actually lived several months until they decided ethically it had to die. For the life of me I cannot remember anymore about this article, but it was from a reputable newspaper and the instructor addressed the biological parts of the article and his ethical issues with the experiment in general. My brother was in the class and remembers it but cannot remember anymore about the article than me.
