Thank you!
My Pleasure!
Rembrandt was an innovative painter in the Dutch Golden Era, who became famous for his use of light and shadows in his compositions, his accurate portrayal of people (he didn’t idealize his subjects , including himself, but painted them with all their flaws). His strong brush strokes inspired many successive painters like Van Gogh, etc. The lighting, the strong contrasting colors, the great attention to details, all contributed to infuse his paintings with an emotional depth unique to Rembrandt. Art is subjective, as with many other painters of different eras, we like some and dislike others. I find Caravaggio too dark for my taste but I cannot deny his mastery.
Thank you, Alba. That’s very helpful.
I see you have Pat Marenko at #14. That’s from her Revelation pictures. I bought a digital CD of them to use in my Revelation Bible studies.
First I’ve heard of her. I’ll watch for her.
