Old Testament told of a Messiah and
Jesus fulfilled those Prophecies.

I guess all the New Testament appeals to “it is written” are meaningless to Andy??

So what other sources should be used to evangelize about Jesus Christ other than the Bible? The Holy Spirit. It's what He's good at.

I love science. I love the human intellect. But you will never convict the heart of man with mere intellect.
The Word has power. That’s what the Bible says.
So many of these ‘pastors’ are a stench in the nostrils of God.
Stop with the programs, stop with the marketing, stop with all the substitutes for the Power of God.
If you don’t know Him well enough to walk in His Power then get out of the ministry. It is obvious you called yourself anyway.

Pastor Stanley might want to take a look at Matt. 5.18 some day (the “not one jot or one tittle” passage).
To: xzins
Wow. Just wow that he said this, let alone believes it.

Jesus “does not need propping up with Old Testament scriptures”
Really? Why did He make such an issue out of fulfilling over 500 of them then?

He wants to “recapture imagination” but we don’t walk by imagination, we walk by faith.

Jesus answered each temptation from Satan with.........”IT IS WRITTEN.”
If quoting from the Bible is good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for me. Seems the more politically incorrect, the more Biblical it is.

I can’t imagine a trained Christian pastor making such an obviously silly statement. Even Sunday School kids know better.
One of Paul’s most famous statements is “Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.”
How can the guy be a minister and not know that?

Not just a minister, but one of the (supposedly) top ministers in America.

I’d bet money that Pastor Robert Jeffress knows the New Testament is chock full of the Old Testament.
And maybe every other pastor in the entire world...except for Andy Stanley.
And a dollar to a donut, his dad, the famous Rev. Charles Stanley, knows it backwards and forwards.
