It's very pleasant to hear from you again. Jon, isn't it? Because of your previous posts, I had little doubt you would stay involved in pastoring. I'll bet the story of your journey from PC to SB (AA, no less) is fascinating. (I hope you don't turn into Tony Campolo.)

My pet theory is that, in addition to the eternal praise we'll have for God because of who He is, as we'll see then so much more clearly, and what He did through history, up to and since the cross, we'll be praising Him as our brothers recount for us all He did in leading us out of our own Egypt and (sometimes haltingly) across our own personal desert and into our own Promised Land. I'm eager to hear yours some day.

Yes, confession is to God, who knows your sins anyway. Why bother to confess then? Not being snide, just pragmatic.

No penance either, then, for your sins. No "public" acknowledgement. Lol. EASY. You can do that every day. Or, "Opps, sorry, Lord." Over and done; forgiven. Onward.

Being a Catholic is the "hard" path. I told my Baptist friend that. She agreed.

It all works out, doesn't it? I think so.
