There is no support for the immaculate conception nor praying to Mary. There were no statutes of Mary. Paul had met with James, the brother of Christ. The apostles were establishing churches where they could. Most of the early church met in homes.

Think of what you are saying, there was no praying to Mary nor statues of her because you are describing a time when Mary was probably alive. The dogma of the Immaculate Conception was studied and argued over 19 centuries before it was declared.

It’s 15 with a windchill of 6 and a RH of 70% which at these temperatures means everything gets desiccated.

I’m sorry for not seeing this.
It’s just that some of your replies...

Lutheran here. Too Catholic for the Protestants, too Protestant for the Catholics. 8-)

A few questions a Catholic ought to ask of their religious institution:

1 - Is the Mary of Catholicism the spouse of God? ... Was she also the spouse of Joseph?

2 - Was a sex gamete from Mary used to make the body of Jesus Who gestated in her womb? ... Would this UNION of sex gametes, with a gamete from God, constitute Mary breaking her vows in her espousal to Joseph?

3 - If the Mary of Catholicism is the mother of the god of Catholicism AND the spouse of the god of Catholicism, what would that define this Mary as? ... Is incest forbidden in the Bible?

4 - Why does The Word of God state categorically that Jesus is The Only Mediator between Man and God, if the Catholic Mary is also added as a mediatrix?

5 - Is the body not the soul? ... Is the soul not the spirit? ... Why did Paul write a prayer of blessing in which he differentiated body, soul, and spirit, when writing to Timotheus?

6 - Was the Mary of the Catholic religion the progenitor of God? ... As a mortal being, could Mary be the progenitor of Jesus and not be the progenitor of God? ... If Mary donated no gamete to the building of the body of Jesus, is she anything, anyone, more than a surrogate to the Body of The Lord Jesus Christ? ... I being only the surrogate to the gestating Jesus would Mary have violated ANY vows she made to her spouse Joseph?

7 - What did Jesus mean when speaking with Nicodemus regarding being Born Again, born from above? ... How did Jesus explain how to be born from above?

Good questions for a Catholic. Not an issue for me though, I’m not one. :)

But I can answer Number 7. Actually, Jesus said it himself. By being born again of water and the Spirit, i.e., baptism.

“The dogma of the Immaculate Conception was studied and argued over 19 centuries before it was declared.” Understandable ... the god of catholiciism had a hard time making up his/her/its mind.

No, not accurate as Mary is the mother of the incarnation of the second person of the Trinity, not the mother of the Godhead, which is what saying *mother of God* says. *Mother of God* says *mother of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit*.

No, no one ever said Mary was mother of the entire Godhead, and that is not what mother of God says.

Careful, the catholics don't like that 'born again/born from above terminology.

For the record, baptism is not required for Salvation, nor is believing it is necessary a necessity for Salvation. Personally, after studying the passage in John 3 for decades, I am persuaded that Jesus was referring to being born of the water world and then from the Spirit world, since that is what Nicodemus, who was right there, tried to argue with. Jesus switched old Nic's focus to the spiritual birth at that point. The micvah in Judaism was an important sign of a vow. Being Baptized is a very important sign of having acknowledged Jesus as your Lord and Savior, so much so that you submit to public baptism. Even the Ethiopian Eunuch, with knowledge in Judaic practices knew he should submit for public baptism as a sign he too believed in The Christ Philip preached to him. What a wonderful testimony that man has had throughout the Ages!

By being born again of water and the Spirit, i.e., baptism. Um, no, that is not what He said:

Jesus Teaches Nicodemus

1 Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”

5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

Please note that Jesus takes Nicodemus's question about being born from the womb, again, and focuses on the spiritual. Jesus explained to Nicodemus that no human can enter the Kingdom unless they are born again, after being born from the womb/born of the water of physical birth AND born by the Spirit.

There is something truly unique about what God is doing in making humans physical and spiritual. We will be able to do what Jesus did, as in leaving the tomb without rolling away the stone, leaving physically and spiritually. The state of the born again, following the Rapture will be even above the state of Angels. God is going to resurrect the body born of water, then transform it to be fit for eternal living and doing, a wondrous state of being indeed, and all because we were born of water from the womb, then born of the Spirit from above.

Snark fully intended. I’m glad you got it. Are you really telling me that you don’t think your implications that Catholics are not Christian and don’t read the bible are not meant to insult. Maybe you are the one who should read your own post slowly.

My skin is fine, thank you. I didn’t say I was insulted, only that you were being insulting. In order to be insulted by you I would have to care what you think of me.
And I don’t.

But I can still love your soul.

Love,
O2

Ouch. So, when are you going to Florida?

That's exactly what *mother of God* says.

If you mean *mother of Jesus* then say it.

Temp and humidity were both 87 today. Kind of uncomfortable, but the beach, with its black sand is 2 blocks away. Yep, suffering for Jesus, with these Berean types. It is nice to see people hungry for the truth. Of course, we are more than willing to give it to them.

:-)

I prefer white sand.

If we want that, we just go across the gulf, to the Island Garden City of Samal. The food is not quite as good as Jack's Ridge, but it's pretty good.
