Kisses: Magister believes that the book revealing to the world the genius of archbishop Fernández is: “Heal me with your mouth. The art of kissing”, published in 1995 by the editor Lumen. Fernández writes in the presentation of the book: “I want to clarify that this book was not written based on my personal experience but based on the lives of those who kiss.” And: “Therefore I have spoken for a long time to many people who have much experience in this field.”

Ridiculous. God save us from these fools.

Did you think your ad hominem and a ping to your support group would somehow make you more credible?

You appear to be looking a gift horse in the mouth. Unam Sanctam was supporting your position. If he's in anybody's support group, it's yours, certainly not mine.

My last post was a response to one of his; I pinged you out of courtesy because I mentioned you.

You have now made two accusations: one of slander and one of an ad hominem attack; yet you refuse to identify either. I consider that to be childish behavior.

On top of this, Fernández’s trust in the reliability and coherence of all papal teaching seems very selective, since he clearly has no qualms about giving greater “theological structure” to the New Evangelization (Evangelii Gaudium), ecological stewardship of the earth (cf. promissory encyclical), or even the Theology of the Body, as his 1995 book, Heal Me with Your Mouth: The Art of Kissing, makes clear. On the last point, we must commend Pope Francis’s wise instincts for selecting such a talented writer. Fernández is so gifted a wordsmith that his book on the art of kissing was honored by being shown and read from in an Argentinian telenovela, Esperanza mia, about a priest who seduces a nun into a secret love affair. Something tells me Cdl. Maradiaga would appreciate the priest’s realism and flexibility.

“The pope goes slow because he wants to be sure that the changes have a deep impact. The slow pace is necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the changes. He knows there are those hoping that the next pope will [] turn everything back around. If you go slowly it’s more difficult to turn things back. . . . “

That’s very interesting. Sort of how our prez is doing things.

As I'm so fond of saying, it must amaze anyone with a lick of sense how people who condemn the media when it runs a headline in adoration of their political enemies or about unemployment numbers will absolutely curl up in its lap and be spoonfed its feces when it tells them what they want to hear.

How exactly is reading an interview the same as being "spoonfed" something by the media? Does that mean that if I watch the president give a speech via CNN I am not actually hearing what he thinks, but am only being given CNN's ideas? Skepticism is one thing, but this strikes me as an easy way to simply bury your head in the sand and never get any information which might threaten your preconceptions. Hardly very healthy, in my opinion.

It sounds like the Overton Window in action.

Which we now have proof from Soviet files that they devised liberation theology and introduced it through well-identified and targeted people sympathetic to such ideas.

Liberation theology is like putting the face of Jesus Christ over Karl Marx. Or Putting a church building over the Kremlin. Or putting a book jacket that says “Bible” over “Das Capital” or “The Communist Manifesto”. However you want to identify it.

I wonder if 9thlife considers this report more hearsay too:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/3289557/posts

or is it not hearsay anymore because it reports that Francis is considering tabling the encyclical?

I will assume that you have read the Scriptures.

Not only is God justified in bringing forth His judgment on those He deems have violated His word, He also has the capacity to do so.

"I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land."

Joel 3:2

------------------------------------

"I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

Genesis 12:3

-------------------------------------

These are just two examples of God's specific warning against doing what Francis is doing right now to Israel.

When God judges Francis (and I believe he will) then Francis will have earned his rebuke.

I have no idea whether 9thLife is accusing the Archbishop of slander. My only point is that, as in a court of law, X’s testimony as to what Y said is hearsay. We don’t know if the Pope has expressed the wrong understanding of papal infallibility attributed to him, except based on Archbishop’s hearsay evidence. Whether the Archbishop slandered or lied, I have no idea, but he does seem to be a thoroughly disagreeable piece of work, so I wouldn’t put it past him.

CDF head: Pope Francis has close ties with liberation theology

The Tablet ^ | 5/2/14 | Christa Pongratz-Lippitt

http://www.thetablet.co.uk/blogs/1/365/liberation-theology-coming-in-from-the-cold

According to Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, prefect for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Pope Francis has close ties with liberation theology, the same discaterio that once condemned the movement. In the 1980s the CDF under then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger attacked liberation theology as borrowing “from various currents of Marxist thought“.

Few know that Müller is also a pupil of Gustavo Gutierrez, the “father” of Latin-American liberation theology. It certainly, when Müller, the prefect for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith affirms that “Pope Francis has close ties with liberation theology” it makes clear the reason for the exaltation of Leonardo Boff and the most radical leaders of the Marxist Liberation theology with the election of Pope Francisco .
